Hey Dave,
Yah buddy! You're doing great with the sfx, or so it seems. The shortness of breath can be very limiting, so take shorter steps, drink more water and just move your recliner closer to the bathroom! Why didn't I recommend that earlier? Silly me!
My eyes gave me fits on treatment and I had to have my prescription changed right afterwards. The old Interferon treatments could cause some real problems for some. It affected the retina in a very negative way. Our former moderator Tim had to stop treatment because of it. Thankfully he still ended up achieving SVR, even on the abbreviated Tx. I think everyone should have an eye exam pre and post treatment. You should check with the VA for info on eye care. They usually are good about getting you in.
Doing pretty well, got my second to last Meds ordered today to arrive next week. After that it's just one more shipment (14 day supplies) and I'll have all meds to get me through Tx.
It's starting to sink in that I'm over halfway done and on a downhill slide now.
Haven't heard back from my PCP regarding a letter I wrote her about continued testing but there's now urgency and I have no doubt that she'll get to me when she can.
This afternoon I'll look for an eye doc so I can get new glasses (needed for upcoming driver's license renewal).
My original plan was to contact an ophthalmologist so they can also advise me on my cataracts but I'm having trouble finding one that takes Medicaid.
So, my backup plan is to get an appointment with an optometrist and just deal with standard eye exam and get an Rx for glasses and get that filled. Medicaid may cover an exam but won't cover glasses but I don't care, I'll just pay for all of the above, I budgeted this for this month already.
Need to get this done the first half of this month if possible so I need to get an appointment soon.
Side effects are not too bad today, shortness of breath (expected), not too foggy today (or I'm just getting used to not having a clue what I'm doing), no depression or particular rage, some tiredness (also expected) and that's about it.
So Life is Good,
Dave
(Yes, Tig ... I'm still hydrating and experiencing the standard side effect from that).

Hang in there Brother Dave!! These are the days you will remember and will allow you to revel in the joy of SVR once achieved!! Just remember these sfx are temporary and you should take every opportunity to take it easy. The anemia is real and your shortness of breath are indicative of it. Don't try to do everything at once. If you can put off til tomorrow what you don't feel like doing today, do it!
In light of your sea poopy attitude, I booked you on this cruise line. Figured you can have the Conductor stop the train long enough for you to get on board the Boat! You'll feel right at home!
I remember that - permanent fog brain. Friends tried to say it was normal in my age group, but fog brain on treatment is something else again.
The really good thing about it is that the fog dissipates quite quickly once you stop treatment. Whew!

Hi Dave,
The LFT's or Liver Function Tests, include several items. Namely, the AST, ALT, GGT, etc. I'm sure you've had at least a couple by now. Here's a link that should describe it better than I. It's a common test, along with a CBC during treatment. At least it should be being done, imo.
I hate to ruin all that for you Dave, but that looks about as easy as the new Common Core stuff. The old math is easier to explain too! The reason for Leap Year is because there are actually 365.25 days in a calendar year. Thus the reason every four years to tack on an extra day.
