Hey SF,
Trust me, the last days of treatment are full of mixed emotions. You're ending a battle that you desperately want to win, but won't be certain of (on paper anyway) for 12 more weeks. But, that shouldn't prevent you from focusing on the positive. You have done great all the way through and that is an excellent indication of the final outcome. Realize the excellent rates of success and grasp it, hold on to that. You have every reason to be happy that Monday is the last of it and we're ready to celebrate the day with you! Don't allow any measure of doubt to cloud the bright days ahead. You did it and as I tell everyone:

It was not nausea at all. Just could not get comfortable and a reminiscent Riba shadow over me. That I believe is crazy as I stopped taking that December 29th and that was five months in the rear view mirror so who knows?
One thing I am not is overwhelmed concerning the 154 days and roughly 22 hours remaining. (LOL).
Carol now has 29 of 84 remaining and that went FAST! So no big deal. September 30 is just up ahead!

Liking that lazy train of thoughts you're having Canuck.
Are you feeling better today Jimmy? Was it nausea or just feeling overwhelmed by the number of days left? Well I'm here to tell you that all good (and bad) (and not so bad) things come to an end.
I have finally cracked open my final sheet of sovaldi - treatment's meant to end on May 27 but I think tabs may run out a few days before that - who knows... A few down the central heating vent? A boogeyman crept in and took a couple because they look like something else? I'm not sure but honest to God, when I look out the small window at the front of this carriage, I could swear I can see - only when the train's on a bend mind you - and only when i squint very purposely - a sign that says Treatment Finito.
And Jimmy, looking behind me- this train's one hell of a long one - and I know you and Carolyn are coming along right behind me.
Take care,
Syd

Hey hey hey Canuck,
I'm just an innocent bystander here. It's that Jimmy who's the culprit fair and square. I think you can get a measure of the man when he admits to cleaning out his fish tank and makes no mention of a Sonny reunion. Sonny took the fall for him during his darkest Easter egg pilfering days. In return he met the fish.
Furthermore, Mick Jagger is an old hero of mine. It's been hard watching him slowly metamorphose from lithe sex god to anorexic, wrinkled up geriatric. I've coped - until I heard jumping Jack Flash today and realised that there are those so depraved out there that they can hear "it's a gas, gas, gas" and, instead of turning reverentially to the sixties, make sordid farty jokes.
Its a crying shame - is it the Harvoni messing with the man's moral compass or is he just starting to show his true colours?

YO Bro,
Good on you for getting out there and rocking the elliptical! 30 minutes of that is a good workout. Don't go pulling a muscle now, it mght take a long time to heal. Remember your body and metabolism have a lot to do right now. Reserve some of that inner strength for squashing Dragons. Nice and steady progress should be the plan and done on a conservative level. Just a thought...
The music is probably behind your motivation to move. Nikki Sixx will do that to you! Just put on your skull cap before you get close to any walls with that music rockin. I don't think you would last too long if you start head banging now!
Now if you get really bored, I've got a 40 gallon aquarium that could really use cleaning. I'll save it for you! Don't even have fish in it now, just water. Need to replace the noisy powerheads and get the bio filter going and restock it. All in good time, but I'll wait for your cleaning service to arrive before tackling that. Across the Gulf is still the shortest route. There must be a boat passing by your place soon. At least that's what the Weather Channel said...
Remember to stay hydrated! Exercising now will demand even higher levels of hydration. Don't fall behind. Hi to Carol, hope she's doing well. You're both doing a great job, keep it up!

Very glad to hear it's all coming together and you are inspiring me to get off my "6" and get on the bike (temporarily made stationary since it windy and wet outside). I've been doing the "tomorrow" thing too ... now I'm feeling quite a lot better and have run out of excuses ...
Music may be the key ... I'll use the headphones I have (actually I'd rather forget this whole conversation and go online and buy some new, higher quality headphone with bluetooth ... but I won't ... darnit).
Keep up the great work! Nice to see things flowing in your direction ... Most Excellent Dude!

Happy Monday!
Day 11 and I got back out in the garage and hit the ole Bowflew and the Elliptical Machine.
I recognize I may have a strange array of "motivational music", but I really did not feel like getting out there. The "maybe tomorrow" excuses kept coming up in my head.
But I said no, not tomorrow, and not later, NOW. Get your ass out there NOW.
So I took a CD I made and opened the routine with the following.
It was a great workout! I won't bore you with the entire CD I made and used but the music said DO IT NOW and I did.
Came back in about 30 minutes later and began prepping to clean out one of my Fish Tanks. 45 gallon pain in the 6 that on a good day I hate to tackle. But I did it and I am beginning to feel better.
The first week kind of was a drag. Yesterday was nice and today is better still.
It kind of feels like I have turned a corner and it is hard to explain. I will be interested to see the two week results coming up this Friday.
Oh and I have not bought a watch in better than a month and a half so I assume the Riba is fading. LOL

Wow I have been missing the action here on this thread. SF and Canuck - a train just flashed by with two grinning faces at the window - EOT station's the next stop on this line.
Jimmy and Carolyn - I can hear bath water in there - is that a rubber duck quack or just a bubbly fart? Get out and find your pants the pair of you .... You're not meant to have so much fun getting to VFL.
Dave, put on your macintosh and go take us some of those amazing photos. Oh well if its wet maybe you could just toast some marshmallows - could be very therapeutic.
Anna - so happy you've got your dance shoes on - sounds like a great way to go through treatment.
Big hugs to all of you

Excellent Anna, I did not feel that but some in here did, like Mike. I hope I will soon.
Yes, more energy, not heaps yet but it's drifting that direction ... attitude seems to be much better, aside from the occasional cussing, hissy fit out of left field every once and a longer while.
I remember while on the meds it was a huge chore just to get something to eat ... just cooked lunch for Jo and I and it just wasn't that bid of a deal. Weather's not very nice out ... that's my excuse for not getting my daily exercise (but I do realize it's an excuse ... does that count any?).

Actually just happy to be on the train. I have been enjoying kicking back with Carolyn and we both love the rain.
Current conditions below and we are the bulls eye. LOL good stuff.
What I have noticed in first 6 days. I do have an increased sense of well being. I have bursts of energy, then can doze off in a chair at 4 in the afternoon for 1/2 hour, only to wake up and have another rush of energy. I actually look forward to my next Harvoni tab. I will also break out in song or do a little dance occasionally - just one happy puppy right now! Anna

Yes 8 more to go! Checkered flag in view and although this was not difficult I will be very glad to be done with it however if it has not done, it's job and I can go another 12, bring it on!
What I am really wondering about is how I might feel once I stop taking this. I have really not felt any difference other than the odd mild side effect during treatment. Even the headaches, were mild and pretty much gone with water. I have not taken a single pill for a headache, I have not had to but once day I was close with lots of tension in my shoulders and knots. This is due to 2 whiplashes also around 45 years ago. I just wanted to avoid any meds unless I really needed it.
I will be looking forward to my first HCV VL as there has one been a single one taken so far. I hope to get that requisition this week from my NP that works in tandem with my specialist. Fingers crossed
Happy Sunday Everyone **** Happy Saturday to Canuck my fellow Canadian eh?

Yes, I am now starting week 7 Harvoni, and have not noticed any negative effects yet. If anything I do notice more energy. Had from 1 to 10 a number 3 headache on week two and one yesterday. I don't usually take naproxen for pain but I felt it necessary yesterday. Outside of that it has been a very exciting joy filled ride.

I had a theory. I read that HCV enjoys the brain almost as much as the liver. I think that is why some have the brain fog. Maybe for those, the HCV has more of a presence there and they may be more predisposed to the mild headaches occasionally? That HCV is just waging the battle there that day (only to lose!) Anna

Otherwise, jeesh, were all doing purdy dern good eh?
C.
Good going Jimmy!
Nice song!
7 days to go and I got my lab req's for my first EOT HVC VL and HBV VL to make sure all is well. ETA one week plus a few days for lab and results? Probably three.
Oh man. I hope I did not leave the wrong impression on the Elliptical. 30 minutes ain't happening and a straight 10 would likely result in a call to 911. LOL
I jump on it for about two minutes between sets on The Bow-Flex.
With regard to me cleaning your tank and "....but I'll wait for your cleaning service to arrive before tackling that."
By all means, you wait right there brother. Sounds like the flipside of "Do you wanna Dance".
LOL
Yes Dave get on the bike. It is a different ride now brother!
YO Bro,
Good on you for getting out there and rocking the elliptical!
Great Stuff Jimmy!
Dave
LOL
JimmyK
LOL Syd,
I'll never look at marshmallows the same again ... especially burnt or burning ones ... LOL
Of course they must be on fire so they'll melt the chocolate ...
Gime Smore
Big hugs to all of you
Sys
Dave said: "A week and a *fart" is what I called 8 days.
Yup, better all the time and it won't be long before you are DONE with Tx ... 8 days? Almost 7? Ya, "A week and a fart" is what I called 8 days.
Best to ya,
Dave

LOL ... That's one think I really like about ya Jimmy ... you're able to put a positive spin on most anything ... you could probably even convince me to buy a whole ox cart full of shinola if ya wanted to ... LOL
Dang, that rain's just not cuttin' y'all any slack, is it ?!
So have ya traded the Kia in for a boat yet?
Actually around those parts it'd probably take a Cadillac to barter for a boat about now ...
Wishin' Y'all Well,
Dave
Thank you Wendy
Pretty easy right Jimmy? We are so glad you are aboard as well. We will count with you.
How are you doing Dave? Are you feeling any better yet?
Excellent Anna, I did not feel that but some in here did, like Mike. I hope I will soon.
Day 10 and all is well here. I have a mere 158 days to go. My gosh, how time flies!
Actually just happy to be on the train. I have been enjoying kicking back with Carolyn and we both love the rain.
Current conditions below and we are the bulls eye. LOL good stuff.
I am so excited for Canuck and SF.
Harvoni Happiness !
Just what the Doctor ordered!
Love it ... LOL
Dave

Happy Sunday Everyone **** Happy Saturday to Canuck
my fellow Canadian eh?
SF
hia nna,
Yes, I am now starting week 7 Harvoni, and have not noticed any negative effects yet.
