I did 18 weeks with riba way back with Merck's trials in 2013--before Harvoni was approved. Few side effects and UND at week 4 and since. I was a happy camper with my trial and Merck still checks me every six months for free. Only trial back then that would take me at my age plus cirrhosis and diabetes. Just referred April(other forum) to this site so she could get great info. Have you made a decision about the trial yet? Good luck whatever you decide !!!

Greetings.
Looks like 2 pills per day x 24 weeks if no RBV. There are a lot of studies to determine several issues that are considered safety issues. It looks interesting, but pretty early and highly experimental.
I am trying to get info on this trial... the gal at Baylor in Houston says I can start in August or September... 24 weeks ...this treatment is a combination of MK 5172, 3682, and 8408.. it is in stage 2. I believe it is called C-Crest 1, still getting information... apparently there are very few side effects... It is one pill daily... has anyone done any of these Merck drugs without Riba?
I am happy to get in this trial as I only have catastrophic insurance til I get medicare in 3 years...
