@Iris, have you gotten any definitive word on the cause of your neuropathy? My neuropathy symptoms became noticeable suddenly, about a year before my HCV was discovered.
My doctor ran all sorts of tests, then declared my neuropathy as being "idiopathic".
I tried a vitamin B-12 regimen as suggested here. It did bring my B-12 lab values up significantly, but did nothing to resolve the numbness. Fortunately, I don't get most of the bizarre pains and sensations some people do.
I've had the neuropathy for 8 years, thankfully hasn't gotten appreciably worse.

Good Morning Friends,
Okay, I’m dying now! I decided to take a look around and see what’s out there in men’s thongs. I was going to post a few examples to show you that men could be similarly attired and uncomfortable. Then I saw them and immediately felt inadequate. I decided against the photo spread... Google “men’s thongs” and click on “images” at the top. See what I mean? Not only would I dislike the thingy up the back (keeping it clean), but I’m almost certain there isn’t enough to fill one up, at least not like THAT! Who thinks of designing things like that?

Iris,
I'm glad you are getting the help you need. Keep it up and keep us posted, please.
Your thong comments had me laughing. Now that this thread has migrated to the thong topic, I have a funny story (I think).
I ride horses. I used to ride English style which included those skin tight breeches, boots and half chaps to the knee. Obvious Panty Line (OPL) was not a good look, so my fellow equestrians gifted me with a thong. They said the wedgie feel goes away. Against my better judgment, I gave the little unit a try and headed out for romp in the forest. Then...I had to pee... I dismounted and went into the bushes. Sure enough, the "wedgie feel" had subsided so when I dropped my breeches and assumed the squatting position, I overlooked the little undergarment. So yes...I peed my thong. There I was sitting on the forest floor, pulling off my chaps, my boots, and my goofy pants to remove the soggy little undergarment in order to keep my pants dry. Geez! Then there was getting dressed again. I didn't know what to do with my laundry, so I buried it. Then I headed home.
These days, I ride Western, love my denims, and my cotton Jockeys for her. TMI, I know, but it follows the migration.
One day I tried the breeches again but felt like I was wearing panty hose without a dress. Another story.
Think about it Tig, those things are hazardous.

Zorries=

2. A reversal, as of a stand or position: a foreign policy flip-flop.
3. A backless, often foam rubber sandal held to the foot at the big toe by means of a thong.

I’m going to agree that a previously broken part will give you a lifetime of reminders. Especially when we start naturally developing conditions like arthritis and issues like osteoporosis. Joint surfaces start to wear and inflammation ensues. I would live in a lot more pain without Ibuprofen, Excedrin and Advil. All in moderation, because they can be hard on the liver with prolonged administration.
I think you’re right about the XRay. No news is generally good/normal news. That’s how my offices usually operate. They also offer an online report portal. Maybe yours offers that.

Also, lower back pain a leg pain/numbness go together. Easy walking can help for starts.
Whatever is causing this, I think you should see a doc sooner rather than later. I shed lots of aches and pains after treatment, but, not everything is generated by HepC and it's treatment, even though it seems that way on Tx.

Iris,
I recall you spoke of lower back, leg weakness prior (on your other thread) - your Mom had been worried about it too, so ... further to what I was thinking below (maybe mechanical pressure issue versus strictly HCV neuropathy), I do think with this toe numbness you should sooner rather than later discuss your foot/toe/back/leg thing with any doc, even your GP versus waiting until Oct to discuss it all with your hep doc. Of course it should be brought up with your hep doc as well, but, given all the circumstances, hx, signs and symptoms we should not just ignore it or delay getting it thought on by a medical noggin. Just my 2 cents. Maybe the effort to see a GP about it will end up being a waste of time, but ya never know, unless you try sumpin. I hope the toes numbness is gone, or is only fluctuating?? How is it now since you last mentioned it?? How are the other older symptoms, lower back and leg weakness things? C.

Iris,
Just off the top of my head "guessing" I would say do not be overly worried about all these things (toes, back, carpal tunnel, nerves, etc., etc) in relation to your EOT soon arriving - whatever the cause(s) of all these "nervey" things, they have no direct bearing on your treatment success nor in the treatment causing these things in you. (That is what I think anyway). IF, and it is a big if, your foot nerve thingy IS caused because you have (had) HCV (and it is a HCV related extra-hepatic manifestation) then your treatment is a good thing for this, and your HCV cure will be a good thing for this.
Moreso than HCV related neuropathy, I am leaning more toward ruling out simple, ordinary, unlucky things causing your foot/toe thing - I would go perhaps to any doc (GP or whoever) to speak about ALL the back/leg/feet, toe symptoms you have had over the last while and see it he comes up with a fitting guess, such as to some kind of nerve compression/irritation or ... whatever! - something like a sciatica-type deal or some kind of mechanical foot-nerve-compression type thing. Take into account ALL activities, shoes, injuries, stresses (low back or foot) movements that may be causing this numbness and other symptoms. C.

It’s difficult to say, but HCV does cause neuropathy, with and without pain. There’s a possibility of symptom resolution after SVR. Again, it’s hard to say if those nerves will recover. Very often neuropathy is age related and can be caused by a number of things. Be sure your doctor is aware of this and can rule out other causes. Just know, I have spoken with a lot of people that experienced real positive improvements following some recovery time after SVR. HCV is the cause of many extra hepatic problems and nerve dysfunction in the limbs is a biggy!

I cannot feel my 3 middle toes on my left foot. This is bugging me a lot. Will it go away?I tried rubbing them and stamping my foot, and it may help a little but not for long. I was also getting debilitating ....not really pain per-se but elimination of strength in my back between my hips and down my legs. Sometime associated with tingling.
The foot thing had been happening of and on for about 4 days now but this a.m. I woke up to it. The back kinda subsided when I started to feel better about two or 3 weeks ago now. I have carpal tunnel, and PTSD which link directly to nerves, so I'm getting a little worried now, so close to the finish line too.
