EOT-minus 12 ... and still waiting ...
Ok I'm pi$$ed (no real surprise there, considering the level of Riba saturation has got to be at it's peak right now) ... I called my PCP's Dr office and got an appointment with my PCP for my EOT date (no problem there), I also said I need to get bloodwork done for a Complete Metabolic Panel and/ or CBC to determine my level of anemia. They said come in the week before my appointment to get the blood work done, that they (office personnel) would tell my PCP to order the blood work (no problem there).
... BUT
The receptionist also said that on April 1 they are changing everyone who is now with my current provider to another level of service and that I need to call to be sure my PCP hasn't changed.
WTF ... I got a letter about a month ago that said they are doing this (changing from Fee-For-Service to Managed Health Care) and that "You Do not Need To Do Anything" (printed in black & white, clear as a bell).
Heck with it, I'm disregarding what the Dr office receptionist said and going by what my Health Care Provider's letter said. Now is not the time for me to be trying to figure out who in the heck to call, waiting for hours on the phone in queue just to find out I need to call someone else that doesn't have a clue what they're doing, call another number, wait another hour and a half only to find out I didn't need to call them. I refuse to submit myself to that level of stress right now (&*%$ 'em all).
Worst case scenario, I go to my appointment and they say my current insurance card is no good there ...
I go home and enjoy being off the meds and let the bulk of the Riba clear my system.
When I feel better I'll call whatever convoluted maze of phone calls I need to and get to the bottom of whatever it is that they screwed up.
More likely, I'll go get my blood work done in about a week, go to my PCP the next week (EOT), go over the results (CBC test for anemia) and talk to my PCP about getting a PCR test (VL) done at EOT+4wks ... and check to be sure they also have an order from the ID specialist for my EOT+12wks PCR test.
... If it takes gettin' pi$$ed off to avoid getting more pi$$ed off I'm game ...
... but I'm not about to jump through any more hoops than I have to right now (&*%$ 'em all I tell ya).
All I care about right now is finishing my meds and recovering from anemia ... all doable without jumping through any friggin' hoops at all. (Whatever happens, I'm not going to lose my health care ... there may be snafu's but I can straighten those out AFTER I get off the meds). Thank goodness Jo made the calls to the Dr's office today ... I'd probably have ripped the phone out of the wall and thrown it who knows where ... Thank You Jo!

Hi all,
i hope everybody over there on the other side of the universe is sleeping soundly.
Yes, just feeling sleepy and falling asleep at an appropriate time would be good, but I don't know what to blame as I went to Europe last year and my body clock never really came with me. When I got back home I found out that my liver had turned into the crispy creme donut that got left in the deep fryer all night. So blamed continuing sleep issues on that. Then i went on treatment in early December and although I do eventually fall unconscious with help of drugs, it's too late and not long enough.
Also really bad pain in my muscles and joints stops me wanting to move much. I'm not sure whether it's a treatment thing or old age but it's debilitating and depressing as I used to be flexible and spry. itching is finally easing, but by no means gone, 5 weeks after I took my last Ribaviron cap. Emotional side effects draining away but by no means gone.
So when you wake up Dave, it'll be 12 days?!! We're all counting down with you. Secretly hoping though that when you return to terra firma you are going to be as funny as you've been on riba.
Piglets are very cute, but like humans, they tend to grow up, get all hairy and angry. I went with the kids to a farm which had a few pigs in a pig sty. There was a hot turd under a small ornamental bridge we walked over. It was the most disgustingly human, gross stench I had ever smelt. So i wonder if the pigs people walk around are toilet trained - and I mean able to clamber onto a dunny ( not likely with those hooves and that bulk) or whether they just dump outside and somebody has to go out and.....,, eughhhh. How much attention do you want to draw to yourself walking around with a pig on a lead before it all becomes too much and you just start making bacon sandwiches ??
JimmyK you are THE video clip genius. You must have a photographic memory which allows you to find the most appropriate silly reference from every sit com, ad and movie made within the last fifty years. They make me laugh a lot.
Take care,

Was a bit of a calamity out there today, I figured the worst of it would be the mowin' ... no way, the lawn mower was in the back of the woodshed, covered in tarps, buckets, lawn chairs, golf bags, chained up tires and wheels, floor jacks, bicycle wheels, saw horses ... you know, the usual stuff ... finally got the mower out and fueled it up, started on the second pull, ran about 5 seconds and died. Not to be started again until I pulled off the carburetor bowl and found a bunch of muck, gelled up fuel and gunk ... cleaned that out, removed the air cleaner poured gas down the throat of the carb and fired it up ... sputtered a few times then took off like a wild banchie.
Mowin' the yard was the easy part.
I'm tuckered as an old mule tryin to pull a cart, loaded with anvils, up suicide hill.
Got a HUGE jug of water in front of me now which I'm tappin' every 30 seconds ... "hydrate" is not the word for the day ... it's "Re-hydrate".

Now on a more upbeat note. Today marks 3 months exactly since I was pulled off the stuff, and I am happy to report, I damn near can sleep now.
So if ya have to be awake anyway... add music and call me in the morning...
I know...
It is just me. :)
LOL ... took me a minute Mike but I finally got it ... we'll count the last 10 together ...
Ya, I think I may just make it now ...
How you doin'? SVR must be like days for you?
I'm hoping the shortness of breath, cough and general tiredness (anemia) goes away fairly quickly when I stop killing my red blood cells off. I'm doing good but it gets tiring (pun intended, Of Course).
I do seriously think this whole thing has loosened a few lug nuts ... I'll have to get out the ol' torque wrench once I quit the dope.
dope: administer drugs to (a racehorse, greyhound, athlete, or dragon slayer wanna be) in order to inhibit or enhance sporting performance.
My guess is they figured they had to induce Rage to get me to kill the Dragon ... at least that's the old school of thought ...
... now days they just strategically go for the jugular I think.
Slay On, (take THAT you stupid dragon ...
)

Heck Dave, you may live through this after all. 3 more days and I'll be able to help you count down.
EOT-minus 13 --- and counting ... (that's two hands and three toes folks)
Sun's a shinin' it's 74°F, lawn's mowed, stuff's growin' like weeds (including the weeds).
Spring is here
EOT is near
Dragons Dead

The Bloomin' Bad Poet
"shakin' the bush boss" ... got some gatorade
Make sure you replace those electrolytes too! Gatorade will help those muscles that are sadly lacking the willpower to work. Don't overdo when you're anemic and you are, I guarantee it. Steady as it goes my friend. We don't need a myocardial infarct to finish off your dragon. Let the drugs do the work and hire that kid down the block to mow! I guess I'm gonna have to buy a new drone, you're not following orders...
Ok, I'm parked at my desk, huffin' and puffin' ... got the lawn done ... it's times like this and of course property tax time that I'm glad we don't have a bigger lot.
Still alive and kickin' just like that ol' mule,
Ahhh ... the joys of
ownership ...
No wonder you're so short, I used to do all the welding on the engine lubrication systems on the C130 J's. You must've been on the plane I did first, oops!
Syd let me tell ya. I have full intention of seeing to it that Riba becomes the next got to have it recreational drug. I stand to make millions I tell ya. LOL
Love the tingle video. And you're certainly managing to pass the time in an entertaining way for the rest of us.
SF - marching steadily through.
Dave - can I suggest you use RIBA indefinitely for entertainment purposes? Okay maybe your agent should allow you to go down to 500mg daily. It's seems a shame that all this creativity might begin to dry up in a mere 14 days. You could partner up with Jimmy K and make a fortune as cyber comedians/ poets/ video art collectors.
Tig, could you go along and manage them? Big Ask I know.
Drones seem like a world wide phenomenon. Seems like focus on anyone on the planet over 12 with a scrotum and sooner or later they'll admit to having at least one - broken in the closet, lost over a hill or sitting in its gleaming cellophane packaging.
Nearly there.
Syd
Hey Jimmy, if it helps, I'll head for Texas with my shotgun ... but at the rate I'm movin' right now ... that could take a while too, sorry ... besides ... those Texas Rangers seem to take things very seriously ... and some yankee longhair with a shotgun ... and shiny hat ... probably wouldn't go over real well there.
