Fire and soggy cotton's getting closer. How can you be so exhausted and yet put so much energy into trying to know whether you're about to well up over a fuzzy duckling or knock the postman off his bike because he put your letters into your letterbox upside down? Why does everything taste bitter or too sweet or just like sand? This spotty old tissue paper used to be my skin!! Now I can't operate a remote, a printer - and don't ask me to change that thing on the wall - forgotten its name - from cool to heat. There's symbols like the sun - does that mean you're too hot and want it to cool you down or does it mean it's cold now and you want it to be more sunny?? Dumb machine. ... then there's the soggy cotton that occupies the greater parts of my lungs along with the goopy syrup trying to carry oxygen from the soggy cotton to the HUGE panic button lodged just below the canister of nitroglycerin.
... I only feel the "zillion microscopic motors in my blood stream that all vibrate" when I try to go to sleep. And as for the outward motion I can't see, but inner buzzing I feel when I'm sitting at rest ... yup ... get that one just before I hit the panic button as I'm trying to avoid the nitro ...

friggens this program and iPads don't work together too well. Just because I adjusted my emoticon font size to 18, it won't let me go back to 12 - so none of this is for emphasis - just because I think it should work like Word.
And apologise is my middle name - too late to change that now.
But I do have some pretty good news - today, for the first time, I felt as good as I did about 18 months or more ago. Still walking around scratching like a demented monkey, but I didn't have a rest in the afternoon, cooked a meal and didn't leave the dishes till tomorrow. That is totally amazing.
Maybe..... And this should be in size 8 font.... Maybe I'm getting better.

Hey, I just noticed something! Syd and Linux saying "I'm sorry, so sorry, very sorry, excuse me, forgive me, pardon me", etc., etc., etc., SO MUCH lately, what the heck is that about! Geesh, they have changed!! And it is not all good! No - (I thought it might be the riba too). Well ... I think I got it figured out, this detrimental change all seems to have occurred after associating with too-overly apologetic Canadians. I think Canuck is a terrible influence on what would otherwise be fairly normal Aussian and Yank cultures. You people shouldn't be cavorting with the likes of Canuck, things can happen. And I do very much, quite sincerely apologize greatly for that. I've ruined them, in short order, virtually overnight simply by association, all I did was start emailing them! Some kind a weird internet VD contagion thing warping their minds til they start talkin JUST LIKE ME!!- sorry this, sorry that! And I do very much, quite sincerely from the bottom of my heart apologize for that.
Now ... I won't take credit nor blame for what Syd "thinks"constitutes potty mouth, or that she actually thinks she IS "speaking potty mouth" (hahaha lol!), just goes to show ya, (from the mouths of babes) how gentle, a sheltered and innocent a life she has led if she actually thought she WAS speaking potty mouth!!! This (and she) is just waaay too cute and enjoyable to end this fantasy.
I wouldn't change her or Linux for all the world, but I AM REAL SORRY about them apologizing all the time! So I am very sorry about that. Sorry! C. Oh, and TIG, please tell me the truth! ... is there really a waffle day, or is it like the bunny egg thing?

Hi Syd,
You just keep being the person you enjoy being! We love ya just the way you are. This forum lets us all be the people we are comfortable being, no judgements, no pre conceived notions. We are what we are. Sometimes the people we are, get a bit lost due to this disease and we need each other to find our way back. There isn't much that hasn't been said here, but it is always done constructively. Rarely do the good people here need to be reminded of our forum guidelines. I think we attract people with class and we all understand the expectations of others and respect that.
As for the Easter wishes, we did have a few! Here's the link:

Not to worry, some of us may act like children but I don't think it's due to being too young ... lol.
To be honest, I rather like people who say it like it is ... rather than pussy footin' around!
You go girl! We won't hold ya back ... at least I won't ... then again I'm a bit of a Rebel myself, even if I do live up North, I live out West ... we are a bit more difficult to categorize than some, I think, and besides, many of us have been around the block a time or two and some lived quite a few friggin' places including cultures WAY outside the Americas. I tend to look for and enjoy color not culture ... Aussies have lots of color ... something to be appreciated is a world that can sometimes otherwise be stuck in the mud ... unless you add, of course, blood and beer (well, I guess we'll have to pass on the beer).
Happy Easter to ya Syd! (Too much rain here in Washington for much egg huntin' outside, kids would have more moss behind their ears than they already do).
Hemoglobin, hemoglobin, hemoglobin ... there, I've said it lots now ... and Jo does enough worryin' for the both of us. She's aware of all and she watches me like a hawk, if I were to be hurtin' too bad she'd have me in the doctor' office before ya could say Jack Flash ... I guarantee that!
Thanks for carin' ... it's appreciated ... doin' good!

Hi guys,
sorry I've got a potty mouth, a dirty mind and a life long habit of pushing the bounderies. Except it's interesting because I haven't ever been on a forum before or spoken really to anybody I don't know on the Internet, and it's much more difficult to see where the boundaries are without a face in front of you. And then there's the cultural factor, because I really feel your Americanness ( if there is such a word), and even though we are immersed in American culture via TV, we are still different. We dont have waffle day, but we celebrate Easter, with or without religion, and so I don't understand why none of you has mentioned it. ( Dont the kids have chocolate egg hunts in the garden?) anyway don't want to go all deep on ya.
Did notice though that Dave hasnt said anything about his haemoglobin. Think I might have to tell Jo on him.

ps. if you left Australia and a bowl of yoghurt out in the sun for 200 years what would be the difference? The yoghurt would have more culture.

Dave, definitely siding with Canuck on this one. You know the old saying "sometimes the treatment's worse than the cure"?
Well haemoglobin drop is a common side effect of Riba. Mine went down to 100 and Mallani said you can let it drop a bit lower than that. You may need to just drop back on the dose of riba, not give it up. But that call needs to be made on an educated basis with your bloods in front of you.
Lethargy and malaise are the symptoms of low haemoglobin - not enough oxygen is getting to your muscles. Get it checked out.
Pretty please.

Hi Canuck,
This morning was a bit rough but as I hydrated and ate I did feel a lot better. In fact I ate a can of Albacore tuna this evening and the protein really helped ... (Thanks Tig, you called that one right on the money).
A few things are happening here, being lethargic I haven't been eating as well as I should lately, I have become somewhat complacent on the liters of water I need, I over did it yesterday, it was only a trip to the dump and sorting and taking in recycling but it was a bit much for a Ribahead with only two weeks and days left on Tx. (Kind of a perfect storm kind of thing, I think).
My plan is to get an appointment with my Primary Care Physician right at EOT. The last thing I want is to lower Riba and if I pay more attention to hydration and better nutrition than I have been over the last week or so I will be fine. I am sure my PCP will order the blood work then and there for Comprehensive Blood Panel ... (They will get a lab back to me in a matter of a few days) not sure if they will order the test for Viral Load but that's not as critical right now. I'll fight that battle after I'm feeling better after EOT.
I'm almost there, I get discouraged at times but I'm Ok.
I'm just going to take it nice and easy and concentrate on doing the things that got me this far ... Water, Friends, Water, Nutrition, Water, a Gatoraid or two, More Water and keep takin' my meds with Water 'till they're gone. ... oh and hundreds of trips to the Bat Room (sorry, bad Batman Joke)
Thanks for your thoughts and concerns, they're appreciated
Your Cascade neighbor,
Dave

Excerpts from a guy who should phone ANY doc, even the first most humble nearest GP, perhaps not even connected to your C treatment, any ole GP with his head on straight should do, and say ... "pretty please, order me a CBC by phone to the nearest lab, immediately, so I can go over there and have my CBC drawn and the results faxed back to me (should only take a day or 2 for CBC to return), so i can see for myself the likely reason why I feel so especially awful!
Repeat things such as - ... "Just getting out of bed today was a bit of a struggle, I slept till after noon ...actually frightened me just a little ... to be honest ... had a feeling that I am NOT well ... doctors don't give a rats a** ...(shortness of breath, lethargy, very low energy etc), ... kind of all hit me a few days ago and tend to scare me a little"... and last but not least, I don't want to wait 17 or more days the way I am feeling.
It's cruel and unusual punishment to be hanging on by your teeth for 17 days to ask (them who ignore your polite written letter of request) for a mere CBC, when you could see what your Hgb is now, within a couple days! At the very least, this man deserves a CBC, NOW, not in 17 days!! You can always arm wrestle the other guys later for the PCR.
Warn this perhaps unsuspecting GP that you are on riba - thus the very justified reason for your request, and that he can expect your reaction accordingly, should he refuse.
You should phone some closeby GP (if there is such a thing), or any GP, ask, and hopefully can go to some closeby lab, just so you can know sooner at the very least where your Hgb is at. Uh ... does your wife drive?
Hang in there. C

God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea And rides upon the storm. Deep in unfathomable mines Of never failing skill He treasures up His bright designs And works His sovereign will. Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy and shall break In blessings on your head. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face. His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flower. Blind unbelief is sure to err And scan His work in vain; God is His own interpreter, And He will make it plain.

Oh I am sure you will do great. My 4 week was 115 which was odd to me. I remember when the RN apologized how long it had taken to get results at about week 6 or so and then went on, "but the good news is you are clear." I remember telling her I had no idea what she was looking at but what I am reading says 115.
Then I hear a, "hold on" some rustling of papers followed by an "Oh my".
Ordered a retest which I got back in week 11 coming in >300k.
You on the other hand have a great week 4 so not to sweat it. <15 is a huge difference not to mention the Sovaldi.

I consider myself very lucky to learn from you all, to count my blessings for I am one of the lucky ones. I know the odds of my being cured Tx naive with Geno 2b are great, I have yet to see an UNDETECTED VL but have little doubt the Tx is working. After Tx I will go to my PCP to see if she will administer a test for both Hemoglobin and VL ... I sent her a letter a while back that puts the ball in her court ... I hope she will do an EOT + 4wks so I won't have to wait for the full 12 wks to know anything.
I'll be fine, no matter, I just need to put my glasses on so I can see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Greetings Brother Dave.
You have 17 days left and I remember well how it tended to simply build with regard to the sides.
I will not lie, when I was within clear view of a mere 7 days remaining I was a complete wreck. The breakthrough and removal from treatment was "official" with a mere 6 days remaining and I can't say which was worse. Failing treatment or what I had to go through only to fail.
But let me tell you this, had it worked, I would have absolutely been ecstatic and the thought of what it took nothing to even consider. I am finding the experience of some use however if only to help you continue on to victory.
Fact is brother next week may well be worse and even more so the week after that. Don't fear it, let the Riba Rage do it's proper work and direct it completely and solely at The Dragon. Next week this time we will talk about 9. Being INSIDE the 10...9....8....7....6 countdown and that is the time when the lift off is moments away.
I walked with a cane at the end of it when I had to go in and be told to stop. But I walked.
Guys if it is any consolation to ya, I haven't even started yet.
I feel like I am in the County Jail awaiting sentencing knowing full well, no I am not getting "time served".
So there!

Not to worry SF, as long as it doesn't have a huge eye on it, I probably won't shoot it down ...
and I've got to be careful, the local authorities don't take too kindly to guys in tinfoil hats shooting shotguns into the air ...
even though we're totally harmless.
Hey, congrats on gettin' that LAST bottle ... for me that was epic! (I knew, at that point, that nothing was going to get between me and SVR ... NOTHING!)
34 days, that only 4 weeks and change ... so your almost 3/4 done ... WTG!

Than would make it 34 for me. I got my last bottle of 28 today. I have a small drone but trying to fly it inside is no fun but nobody tries to shoot it down.

Hey Dave,
Week 10 buddy! Remember the military? Duh... Well, we used to say, you're so short, you could walk under a door. I think you're getting close, probably have to duck your head, but you're mighty close my friend. And you know what I have to mention? See below V
Well Syd if it takes feeling like 104 to not roll with that, I'm right there with ya ... at least there's not much doubt what the "PSY" stands for ... lol
Jimmy - I've heard quieter nitro airplanes ... holy guac, that thing needs to chill!
... and yes, that's very close to what I experience when I lay down to go to sleep lately.
 You mean like this?
Â
My 13 month old grandson was bopping to this in his high chair when I went over there today. When it comes to the dadadadadaddy bit, Â he joins in.Â
I felt 104.Â
Hope the link has worked this time!??
Syd
Nah,
I wouldn't describe it as a zillion microscopic motors in your blood stream that all vibrate. That sounds like a buzz to me and weren't they good things???
Thanks computer, you're telling me your start up disc's nearly full - what do you want me to do about that ???
Is this Ribaviron or just plain old Altzheimers?? Never mind I'll just go and have a lie down......
Hey RC,
Feels a bit like the magic blue smoke is leaking out between the folds of my brain right now ...
... but seriously ... bzzzzzt ... (oh, well ... guess I can't go there, sorry) ... maybe more like 75 trillion tiny marshmallows crammed into the space between my brain and the rest of the world and every once and a while they catch fire instead of just turning brown ...
... then there's the soggy cotton that occupies the greater parts of my lungs along with the goopy syrup trying to carry oxygen from the soggy cotton to the HUGE panic button lodged just below the canister of nitroglycerin.
... I only feel the "zillion microscopic motors in my blood stream that all vibrate" when I try to go to sleep. And as for the outward motion I can't see, but inner buzzing I feel when I'm sitting at rest ... yup ... get that one just before I hit the panic button as I'm trying to avoid the nitro ...
... ya just hadta ask me while I'm wearing my tinfoil hat, didn't ya RC

Dave, the tingling pic is great. I have described the riba tingle as a zillion microscopic motors in your blood stream that all vibrate, its not a outward motion you can see, but a inner buzzing you feel when your sitting at rest. Hows it feel to you and any others on the forum??  RC

Ya, a fortnight and a fart ...

... what's up with that? Like what was like a minute takes about 3 days now ...

Talkin' about getting "off track"

"....You've done it again.."
EOT-minus 15 ... and counting ... (that's two hands and one foot, folks, a fortnight and a friggin' day or thirty five measly days for SF)
I'll probably make it, how 'bout you SF! (Getting the last of the meds is a NICE!! psychological barrier to have broken).
Canuck, I'm sorry but perhaps it's a latitude thing I only apologize part of the time, the rest I don't give a rat's hooter ... and SF, for what it's worth, I believe in building bridges with Canada not fences, (and some other stuff that's censored due to political frailty and formidable fallout ... and other "F" words).
Syd, doin' good ... Jo hasn't blinked yet and I don't expect her to ... lol. I love to hear that you are feeling so much better, you've had a rough go of it and I'll venture to say that' feeling better is due in great part to kickin' that dragon's a**, I woke up one night a short while ago and KNEW the dragon was dead, wasn't just a feeling, I knew ... we're just in the process of takin' names now ...
Wendy, I'll spare you the YouTube, Billy Joel vid ... lol ... but yes it does apply ...
Thanks for all you do Jill ... not once have I seen one of your posts and not smiled ... Fact!
Sorry Jimmy (there I go again), didn't mean to get all mushy on ya with the Lifesaver thing ... have a donut

This is a happy thread now and that's a good thing. I just ordered my last bottle of Harvoni (Sorry for mentioning it in a Sovadli post) and it will arrive tomorrow that starts week 8 for me.. I think.. Dave, what day are you?
As a Canadian I must say that we really don't say "eh" but Doug and Bob Mackenzie do. Sorry if you thought that.
I'm sorry, so sorry ... said Brenda Lee ... Oh gee, I should shut up while the going is good.
End of sorry rant .. eh?

Hi Syd, I`ve just reduced the font size in the bit of your post that was stuck in 18! I couldn`t get it to quite the right size but I think that`s better, it doesn`t look so loud now!
The main thing though is your good news, fantastic for you to be feeling so much better! It takes a while and it`s often a slow process, but you`re getting there!! I hope the itching will soon be on its way out, shouldn`t be bothering you for too much longer, we hope!
And now for a song I really do not like but hits the nail on the head with these last few posts ...to all of you.."I love you just the way you are".
scratchin like a demented monkey...that was the best. NO, not for you, but the image it brings.
Hey Canuck,
all you should be sorry about is that you keep on taking the p$&".
No not really, we like you that way. I'm just a bit slow to catch on. Sooo there is no waffle day???? I've always been really easy to lie to( Just ask my ex husbands! )
friggens this program and iPads don't work together too well.

(now ... I being officiously bilingual (took early immersion courses in potty mouth) really CAN speak it, fluently, just ask me, I do it later for ya later, but for now .... hey, please, shhh, don't anybody tell her she doesn't know what potty mouth is.
Geez you guys..... You can tear up over one post, drop a few more over the next, and then get totally blindsided by a video clip. What a beautiful voice she has.
Thank you.
and I'll stop nagging over the haemoglobin and just be glad Jo's got her eagle eye on you.
You're getting pretty close to being "there" aren't you?
Syd
Will Do Jimmy!
I'll savor it ... waiting for the right moment ... THANKS ... redeemed, for sure!!
As always, you're a lifesaver,
Dave
Yea you're right. Pretty substandard. I have an idea. Here is one I want you to play next time you feel the Riba Crawl coming over you. Ten bucks says it will stop you in your tracks.
Count to 5, thing of Jo and hit the play button.
;) Jimmy
Hi Syd,
You just keep being the person you enjoy being!
Here's the link:
http://hepcfriends.activeboard.com/t61890982/happy-easter/#lastPostAnchor
I hope you had a wonderful day! Take care of yourselves and hydrate! I'll never stop reminding you all of that most important part of sfx control!
Hi Ya Syd,
LOL ... I seriously doubt that you could shock any one of us too much ... you Rebel you!
Thanks for carin' ... it's appreciated ... doin' good!
Dave
Hi guys,
sorry I've got a potty mouth, a dirty mind and a life long habit of pushing the bounderies.
Syd
ps. if you left Australia and a bowl of yoghurt out in the sun for 200 years what would be the difference? The yoghurt would have more culture.
EOT-minus 16 ... and counting ...
Wendy, you know the coffee on the screen thing ... well that was nearly the case when I saw our friend Batwonder there.
Batman vs Easter Bunny ... my money's definitely on the Bunny ... LOL (Yes Syd, I'd be willing to venture a guess that his Bat Diapers are WAY too tight ... or at least full as Tig has suggested ... and he does have some recent diaper experience ... LOL
Ya, bummer missing Waffle day, makes me wish I had a waffle iron, my Dad used to make them Saturday mornings when I was a kid ... love 'em.
Feeling pretty good today, lots of water, hot coffee and Jo's makin' egg salad, yum.
Rainy day so I'm just watchin' movies.
Jimmy must be havin' a bad day ... I hate to be sour grapes and all but I'm not really sure that video was up to your usual high standard bro ...
... hope you're feeling better ... (Then again, there is the "Train" connection ... guess we'll have to give ya the benefit of the doubt there Jimmy).

you guys are killing me. LOVE IT
LMAO! Where do you come up with this stuff? Too funny!
Riba Train vs Batman.
Kinda looks to me like he's blowing a duck face kiss, while light on his feet... Some sort of Bat Fairy dance? Could be too, he bat farted and "splarted" instead! My grand daughter makes that face, looks at you and says, "OH, OH"!
POW!!! Time for the Bat Wipes.....
Syd good thing I didn't have coffee in my mouth or it would have spewed on the screen. LMAO
Wendyo,
Is it a mod pose or has someone just squeezed his Bat gonads and he rather liked it?
Dave, definitely siding with Canuck on this one. You know the old saying "sometimes the treatment's worse than the cure"?
Well haemoglobin drop is a common side effect of Riba. Mine went down to 100 and Mallani said you can let it drop a bit lower than that. You may need to just drop back on the dose of riba, not give it up. But that call needs to be made on an educated basis with your bloods in front of you.
Lethargy and malaise are the symptoms of low haemoglobin - not enough oxygen is getting to your muscles. Get it checked out.
Pretty please.
Syd
And Jimmy, thanks so much for the name. No wonder I didn't remember it - three or four bloody vowel sounds before you get to a consonant!
I am glad you are feeling better Dave. I have that happen with the protein as well.
Moniker for the day below.....and look Jimmy, he is in a mod pose (for Tig)
Hey!
Bro-ther! Don't tell me I missed International Waffle day, again!! Somebody coulda let me know eh?
Shoot.
C.
Hi Canuck,
This morning was a bit rough but as I hydrated and ate I did feel a lot better.

"Just getting out of bed today was a bit of a struggle, I slept till after noon ... actually frightened me just a little ... to be honest ... had a feeling that I am NOT well ... doctors don't give a rats a** ... (shortness of breath, lethargy, very low energy etc), ... kind of all hit me a few days ago and tend to scare me a little"... and last but not least, I don't want to wait 17 or more days the way I am feeling.
Damn, I love her voice!
Thanks for asking about her Syd, and thanks Jimmy for the latest, Iyeoka's gonna havta become a staple in my (music) diet.
Dave
Hiya Syd.
Hope your night is great.
Yes I did and the woman you are referring to and the song are; "Simply Falling" - Iyeoka
Not a lot of folks have heard of her that I run with. I like a very wide variety of music and consider it all art.
Here is another one from her. Enjoy.
Warm Regards Sister.
Jimmy
Hi Dave,
you're getting there. In the meantime you have made us all laugh a lot and as well as making our treatment time pass more quickly.
Not only laugh, either, we feel your riba pain!!
Jimmy K,
I'm not sure how I missed that huge part of your journey but your strength in the face of adversity is inspirational.
Ps. Did you post three songs by three different artists a week or so ago? One was Amy Winehouse, one was Country and western and the third was a beautiful song by a black woman I had never heard of. I would like to listen to some more of her music but can't remember her name or find the post!
Syd
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
William Cowper
Oh I am sure you will do great. My 4 week was 115 which was odd to me. I remember when the RN apologized how long it had taken to get results at about week 6 or so and then went on, "but the good news is you are clear." I remember telling her I had no idea what she was looking at but what I am reading says 115.
Then I hear a, "hold on" some rustling of papers followed by an "Oh my".
Ordered a retest which I got back in week 11 coming in >300k.
You on the other hand have a great week 4 so not to sweat it. <15 is a huge difference not to mention the Sovaldi.
My time is coming and to be honest it is all my fault.
I prayed that Carol be cured first so there it is there. God said ok you asked for it! LOL
She is doing great so I will just wait my turn and all is well.
JimmyK
Oh Jimmy,
You truly do have GREAT strength ... I cannot possibly imagine the depression and extreme disappointment that you and others have had when Tx failed ...
Dave
Your Brother!
JimmyK
