I almost always highlight test and copy to clipboard whenever I have more than a few lines of text ... got lazy I guess.
Usually it IS hitting the back button that messes things up and I can usually get right back with forward button ... this time it was just gone ...

SF,
Don't trust that "Show Preview" trick, it only works half the time. Trust me, it has bitten me more than once. Another trick that works, is refreshing the page once it disappears. Even though the page claims to save a draft, it only works when you don't need it. I use an iPad most of the time and experience losses more often with it. When I use my desktop PC, I rarely experience a loss of text, even when switching tabs. Memory is everything! We all understand that better than most!

LOL ... you all are Great!
Thanks for the thoughts and the smiles ... they are really appreciated!
Just getting out of bed today was a bit of a struggle, I slept till after noon.
Actually frightened me just a little ... to be honest ... had a feeling that I am NOT well ... doctors don't give a rats a** ... well just dark depressing stuff.
As I have some coffee (And read all the nice posts) ... life is looking up HUGE!
Wow, people caring really DOES make a HUGE difference ... so THANKS!
Jimmy, That Woke Me Up! ... lol, and Really seemed to apply today ... LOL, thanks
Wendy got me laughing with the song stuck in her head and SF clinched the deal with "Please re-grease me change my oil ..." LOL
How 17 days can today seem like a long time is odd, I know ... it's the physical side effects (shortness of breath, lethargy, very low energy etc), they weren't bad most of Tx but kind of all hit me a few days ago and tend to scare me a little. (Throw in a pinch of depression, eye of newt and stir).

Dave,
I know that tune of the lyrics you posted. I used to use these, Please re-grease me change my oil ...
I have been using notepad for anything large most of the time but I did stumble into this... If you keep pressing show preview as you type,, the forum seems to hold onto your text and if you accidentally press back space or something (This is usually the culprit on my notebook) then you can get it back. I once thought it was gone, gone, gone and when I clicked on the topic again it was there is all it's splendor
** Do you believe in magic ... yet another song
You are so close now, so just hang it and soon you will be done and better than before. I was going to say, so close you could almost smell it but that could have been the dump you went to.

The ol' train is still chugging along fine, albeit a little slower pace, the tender car seems to be getting a tad low ...
Getting a little tired of the fog banks, I need a warm sunny day to burn that off and brighten things up.
Maybe that will do the trick ...
Had some chores planned for today ... they're just going to have to wait I think.
Funny story:
There's a lady who often wanders the neighborhood, loudly talking to herself. No, not a "Bluetooth Jabber Yacker" (those idioms are a different story), just a babbling traveler with too many years of hard substance abuse, I'm afraid. More on her in a moment but our next door neighbor recently passed away so her daughter and son-in-law are trying to sell the house.
Miss Loony Pantaloony (as I affectionately call her to myself) was in my next door neighbor's yard picking a large number of flowers that just came into bloom. Well, since they are trying to sell the house, they asked us to keep an eye on it and it would be nice for a perspective buyer to see some nice flowers rather than a bunch of picked stems so Jo told Miss LP to leave the flowers alone and go ... she mumbled something under her breath and went away pouting like a 4 year old.
... well, about a half an hour later we hear some loud babbling out by our gate and I look and there are some wilted, picked flowers hanging there. Jo went out to remove them and with them was a card. Miss LP had written a note saying that she "is not a Flower Picker" and that those flowers were "petals down in the mud and needed to be rescued" ... then at the bottom a note that said "Don't be Mad, be Glad" ...
Well, it's certainly difficult to get too upset over that ... LOL ... poor thing just doesn't know the difference between live flowers and dead ones.
So, I put the wilted flowers in a vase and put the card next to it on the table ... I guess if that's the worst thing that happens to us, we'll be lucky.

I think the only nice thing about being on riba is that it is way more occupying and time consuming to figure out Canucks bad jokes. You see! I am actually trying to do you a big favour, keeping you busy, occupied, distracted, providing a good alternative to the regular reasons for fatigue. That's OK, you can thank me later, and when you still don't get my jokes, I will do what I usually do, and just keep explaining their nuances to you, over and over and ...
Hey I don't get this! You, on riba, and can't see to boot, and YOU get to drive all over the place!. My partner (now chauffeur by unpopular vote) has hidden my driver's license from me. In one of our treks to the coast I tried to drive just one short, straight, easy stretch to give him a break, "rest his eyes" for a minute kinda thing, he did not get the intended rest and said "never again", I see him now with great concern studying me more intently for dopey thinking, slowed reaction time, inability to make a decision in a prompt fashion, AND I'm not even on riba! So unfair, I do not even have a good excuse, and YOU still get to drive! What gives.
Where is Scot? He was driving last week too! Syd, do you drive?

Hey Canuck,
i was being totally serious. Tig does deserve his grand babies around him. and I'm sure they need tie dyed onesies and some Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead to complete their education. A total move is a big one though. They don't go down so well as they did when you lived out of a back pack in your twenties. And yes a quick look at the map does show Florida pointing out to sea. Even though we live in Port Phillip Bay, our actual suburb juts out into the bay so is very windy. But we don't get hurricanes and major weather events like you do. Just bush fires.
And so yes, on the other side of the world it is Autumn. Leaves are beginning to turn yellow and brown and today is another calm, perfect sunny day. We think winter is cold here but it's because e don't live in Canada. I would love to see freshly fallen snow but it's a rare event here. And then only a few flakes fall, nothing to cover the ground.
so glad you are home safe Dave. Big drive but so happy to know your wife has begun her treatment. You will get more appreciative of the glasses as you get more familiar with them. But we are lucky to live in an era that has seen effective meds for hep c developing as well as amazing surgery for cataracts. When you'Ve had that done, you'll feel as though a veil has been lifted.
So glad to hear from you Jimmy.

There's no place like home (225 miles later). I'm home for the day, you couldn't pry me out of here if ya tried, I'm stayin'
Initial reaction to my new glasses was slight disappointment, I thought I'd see a little better at distance but the cataracts just prevent that, after driving home with the glasses on I did notice a definite improvement over no glasses so they do definitely help quite a bit, I can read road signs way better. Got home and they help quite a lot with the computer and reading so all-in-all they will be very helpful and a big improvement over not having them. I think as I get used to them things will improve even more so I'm very happy.

Hi All,
I would love to have a clutch of grand babies running around! However, my back, legs and desire to get up and down every few minutes, all day long, may over rule that! They live about a 12-13 hour drive north of us, so it's not as easy to drop in as we'd like. One of these days we'd love to be closer, so we could be a bigger help and influence in their lives. I'm not sure they know what lies ahead by having that crazy old fuzzy faced grandpa providing his wisdom so freely! I'll have the babies dressed in tie dyed onesies, listening to Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead, ha! I can hardly wait
Best to not get into a political discussion right now. What a powder keg it has become this election cycle. I think 90% of what you're hearing is the typical political bull poo that is always in the news and is only meant to disrupt, not fix.
We avoided the hail storm, but we've had a real unusual year. The El Nino effect has brought us a lot of additional rain and storms. We have had more tornados that I ever remember, but damage has been minimal overall, but the weather has impacted a lot of people quite badly in some areas. The way we stick out like the appendix of America, leaves us exposed to every windstorm that blows through. Hurricanes, thankfully, are few and far between. The last direct hit in my area was 10 years ago. Knock on wood... If it isn't one thing, it's another. Doesn't matter where you live, there seems to be something out there that can get you!
I hope you all have a great week!

Wendy, I'm a dog lover but that clip hit the spot!
Dave has turned into Mr Positivity on steroids and is on a long distance journey complete with dodgy batteries. No, seriously, I am in awe of you. Every riba tab I took made me a bit more mental than the ones before. You really have mastered mind over matter and I hope the trip is really worth it for your wife
Tig, you deserve to have a whole clutch of grandchildren under your feet. I hope your daughter doesn't live too far away. there was a storm in Florida with hail stones the size of golf balls a couple of days ago. Was that near you? Many Americans don't know where Autralia is, but we hear about your hurricanes, fires and storms here. And Trump. What's that about? Okay I won't get political here but can I just say WTCombover? And surely, to return to safer topics, surely you don't have year round sunshine AND Spring?
Hi Canuck, hope all well in your world. I live way down south in Australia which means it's a lot colder than Malcolm's Queensland. And it is Autumn here. Just as well, we've had the hottest summer ever and just last week was really humid with temps above 20c every night.

Eating well here ( added more greens and avocado's to the salad left over from yesterday, had some very tasty albacore tuna with it and nuts and olives ... yummy), ... and yes, hydrating too.
Canuck - I'll try to be a bit more creative next time I'll see if I can muster something up if it hits me (Perhaps an Ode to Foggy Brains) ... LOL Yes, I'm sure you get your fair share of rain too my Northern neighbor, as well as fog, sleet, hail and snow. I do love how green it keeps us, I wish we had a little more snow pack in the mountains here, makes for a nerve wracking late summer with fires popping up on a weekly if not daily basis. Ah but much too early to worry about that now, lets enjoy the Spring and Summer that lay just ahead first.
An Ode To Jimmy's Plight
Oh Jimmy, oh Jimmy, oh where can you be
Riding your scooter through through hallways I see
The insurance people will be shaking in fear
Whenever Jimmy decides to come near
We approve you, we approve you, I could hear them say
As Jimmy ripped the CEO's door off today
He'll get his meds very soon we hope
Or they'll be hell to pay for some poor dope.

All I can visualize when you guys say kill kill kill is the dog from the summer of sam. I have a very warped sense of humor I know.
I almost always highlight test and copy to clipboard whenever I have more than a few lines of text ... got lazy I guess.
Usually it IS hitting the back button that messes things up and I can usually get right back with forward button ... this time it was just gone ...
I have 8GB ram and my browser cache is pushed to ram so I very rarely loose anything (unless, of course I just shut the laptop off before posting etc).
Hey Tig,
Very Tricky! You got me talking geek speak to pull me out of my funk, didn't ya, you tricky rascal, you!
D
SF,
Don't trust that "Show Preview" trick, it only works half the time. We all understand that better than most!
... Ya ... What He Said ... EOT-minus (What seems like a bunch of days right now)
LOL ... you all are Great!
T-17 and singing!
LOL pass the Pizza!
I have been singing please delete me since yesterday! Make it stop.
Hope Dave is feeling better today.
When I was on interferon, I tried to get massages every other week or once a month to help flush my system. I know it can be costly but I wanted to mention it. I have a deep tissue massage today is what made me think of sharing this.
Dave,
I know that tune of the lyrics you posted.
SF
Roger on the Water Tig!
... there I fixed the box of potatoes ...
Done with chores unless we get a real nice sunny day to dry out the lawn ... not likely in the near future. I like it long anyway, mow it on highest setting.

Since you're trashing your diet, I recommend you throw that ice cream on top of a big fat waffle. It's international waffle day, might as well celebrate it, because tomorrow will be the day I come after you for wrecking your nutritional record of success. You better be washing it all down with plenty of good H20! Or else.....
The Riba has your Hemoglobin going south, which results in that shortness of breath. Time to slow it down if you're huffing and puffing. There are muscles that need that O2, let the dogs chase the pizza delivery guy!
I don't know what's up with quoting myself ... must be a Riba thing ...

LOL.
"...30 other idiots.."
I do love Friday!
Brother! Welcome to the
club.
Day friggin' EOT-minus 18 ... and counting ...
I just typed a long post and it evaporated when I hit the "Submit Post" button so sorry folks, it was a good one but we'll not be seeing that one ever again ...
I've gotta go smash some boxes ...
... for recycling
and take the garbage to the dump ...
If I wait 'till tomorrow I'll have to put up with 30 other idiots taking their garbage to the dump.
Dave
DAVES MISSING POST WAS HERE. THE RIBA MONSTER ATE IT!
Well, I don't want to waste a perfectly good opportunity to pull your chain or a post, so I'll slip this little Box O' Fun in here and hopefully help defuse that rage a bit!
Thanks SF,
My sunny day will come ... not so very far away ... what a nice time to be finishing Tx ... Springtime ...
Good luck to you as well, you are what, less than 40 days now?
Soon you'll be down to only 1/3rd left ... then 1/4th ... then counting on fingers and toes ...
... you're getting there too ... YaHooo!
Power to the Flower (preferably live ones),
Dave
We are counting down with you Dave. You're almost there. I hope you get your sunny day. We had freezing rain today and everything nasty on the roads and with power that goes along with it . Personally, I was not affected so happy about that.
The Flower Power story is a nice one!
Take care and keep us up to date.
SF
EOT-minus 19... and counting ... (on fingers and toes)
Dave

Hiya Canuck,
Always nice to hear from ya ... you alway get a smile out of me ...
I haven't heard from Scott for a LONG time, I have no idea what's up with him ... I do wish he'd touch bases so we know how he's doin'.
Oh, as far as driving goes ... that's why I took the train ...
Yes, the countdown is down to counting fingers and toes ... how cool is THAT!

I'm sure liking the sound of your count-down Linux. C
EOT-minus 20... and counting ...
Last shipment (14 day supply) of meds arrived today ... what a relief that is ... get done with this batch and the 6 day buffer I still had and I'm done.
Don't know about outside but inside the fog is so thick I could cut it with a butter knife. Think Mr Magoo without his useless glasses ...
Trying to recharge my batteries with a strong cup of coffee ... feeling a bit haggard today ...
... that's Ok folks, won't be long and this ol' dog will be steppin' off the train and startin' to walk straight on through on to SVR!
I hear that's a long walk but hey, at least it will be Riba-Free ...

I like the Foggie Dog! And I just love you guys! Makes my day a little brighter.
ROTFL ... I LOVE Far Side ... how did that one get by me?
... oh, never mind, you don't need to answer that question ...
... as I tie a string around my finger ...
The Foggie Dog
(That's only three monikers so far today Wendy ...
)
Dave,
When you mentioned the Far Side, my mind went to the comic strip. Here's the brain fog support group we may be looking for...
I bow to David Bowie, may he forever be floating throughout the universe ....
... nice choice of tunes Jimmy ...
59 F? Heat wave
Thank you and the pie sounds great. I have been to Florida a few times. I will come again and hopefully sometime in the near future. It has been many years but being there in February and it's freezing here is great. I am sure it has changed big time since the last time was 1989. I tend to stay in FT. Lauderdale.
Greetings Right and Left Coasters.
Houston Out.
Indeed, I have, no doubt, gone by at least 4 different monikers ... and that's just in one day ... lol. And the fog part, well ... now what were we talking about ...
...
Tig wrote:
"quit making fun of us Floridians and our cold weather...."
Don't feel bad Tig, the Alaskans (and no doubt the Canadians) make fun of us in the same way ... where if the temp is not a negative number they are, no doubt, in tee shirts while I will be wearing my Cabelas thermal jacket ... lol ... It's all relative like in the "Theory of Relativity"
... as for the "Dark Side of the Moon" thing ... I was worried that if I said "Dark Side of the moon" I might hit "The Wall" so I said "Far Side". (Made perfect sense at the time ... you know, considering the fog and all).
Riba 001 ... Out
(I rest my case Wendy, yet another moniker for today) ... LOL
See attached file for clarity on that ... I'm a such space cadet!

Dave, I know you're suffering from the ocassional fog bank, especially up there in Western Washington, so I'm gonna cut you some slack. I have two things to point out, 1. Quit making fun of us Floridians and our cold weather. Our blood is thin, unlike you Northerners and the 90 weight fluids coursing through your blood vessels. 2. It's not the Far Side of the Moon, it's the Dark Side of the Moon! Pink Floyd lives, don't forget it!
That is all...
Dave it is hard to keep track of the nicknames/screen names and real names lol and have brain fog ... I know you guys relate!
... Houston ... So glad we got coms back ... We were holding our breath while we were on the far side of the moon, thought we were all going to turn blue ... Riba One out

Copy that Dave you are clear to continue the sequence.
Houston Out
EOT-minus 21 ... and counting ... (that's only 3 little weeks there Houston) ... I do believe I could do that standing on my ear (although that would be quite painful, I'll halve to admit)
Syd,
Thank you for the thoughts, they are appreciated.
Hehe, ya gotta watch that Canucker, she snagged me on day one ... she had me going right out of the gate ... of course, I was a big sucker and fell right for it ALL, Hook, Line and Sinker (ya stinker! ... LOL).
(Wouldn't have it any other way though).
Wendy - Halfway was for Shadowfax, I'm pleased to announce I'm down to 21 days
... my brother lives in Florida and it always tickles me when he talks about how cold it is ... he won't even get into his solar heated pool unless it's at least 84 degrees ... When he came to visit here in WA a few summers ago we were in tee shirts and he had a sweater on and I think he had a jacket on as well ... hehe ...

Hi guys,
so I'm a bit slow and make two errors in one post.
1. Canuck, you cheeky girl, you were pulling my chain.
2. Dave, so glad Jo isn't on this journey and hope that the specialist she is seeing is for an ingrown toenail or something else simple and easy to fix.
Happy half way Dave, and glad the glasses make a difference.
Enjoying our last cold snap down here in FL. I have always said that's why I live on FL, for our winter
It's a good day when you don't have to run the AC and can enjoy the fresh air down here.
Have a good day all, unless you have other plans!
Hi Syd,
Sorry if I wasn't clear, Jo's not on Tx, she just has some other health issues that happen to require a specialist.
No, we had her tested since we've been together over 22 years ... all negative thank goodness.
Yes, eye surgery will make a huge difference, both my brothers had it done and they see 20/20 farsight and just use reading glasses as needed.
I'm actually anxious to get started but need to wait till SVR.
They'll do one then I'm not sure how long before the second.
Catch Ya Later,
Dave
Hey Canuck,
i was being totally serious.
Syd
Man the guy said Apple Pie.
Whew!
I'll go start testing Apple Pies right away ... got to make sure which one's best ya know, lots to test ... may take a while!
Dave
Congrats on reaching halfway SF! BIG, BIG accomplishment my northern neighbor! I thought about you this morning. We had an Arctic chill blow through southwest Florida. It dropped down to 59 F. Brrrr! I might have to buy a snow shovel, NOT! It's quite pleasant when it cools off down here, which is rare.
Keep up the hard work and start planning the after party. It will be time to send out invitations before you know it! We'll have to get Dave to send you one of those great Washington Delicious Apple pies to start the food festival we have planned!
Glad to "see" you're both back home safe and sound.
Yes halfway and you are three weeks from the end of this part of the journey. It seems not that long ago that both you and I were still waiting. I hope this might be an inspiration to others that waiting is no fun, sometimes the journey is not all that mush fun but in the grand scheme of things, it's great.
See, I told you that you would be counting down. Ye of little faith
Now we are waiting for other friends like Jimmy to get on his train and share his Apple Pie ...
I am unsure what I would have done had I not found this great forum and the great people and admins that run it. We are lucky to be sure.
SF
Home Sweet Home
Took Jo East to the specialist and got her home then went West to get my glasses, finally got back.
Happy Halfway Day SF!!
Dave
EOT-minus 22 ... and counting
Hey SF, You're Half Way There!!
Congrats on that my friend!
I'm off to the East only to go North ... it's all so confusing ...
, NOT.
brb - I'll touch bases later. (Yes, I'll be careful and stay hydrated too all while looking for restrooms) ...
Dave
Man I missed a lot. Sorry y'all just needed some air is all. Looks like a lot of folks are doing great and that is good to hear.
No worries Lil Sister, it was a plot to draw out the poetic nature of Tig. LOL
Dave the T-Minus is screaming along and looks great!
Carry on y'all!
JimmyK
Hi All,
I would love to have a clutch of grand babies running around!
Syd,
You said ... " Many Americans don't know where Autralia is," ... cripes I'm Canadian and even I don't know where Autralia is!
But I do git the Trump thing.
Now syd, I wasn't born yesterday - what the heck do you mean "it's autumn"! Is this the riba, or you talkin?
I just don't know what's got into you lately - can't tell if you are being facetious or not when you tell Tig he deserves children underfoot!
Then you say .... "no adult themes here. Nothing of a sexual, violent or coarse language nature" ... , now I'm crushed.
(Oh god, just wait til Linux gets back and sees what we've done here - it's all your fault - OK)?
Love ya, C
Hi you guys,
geez you fall off the iPad for 24 hours to hobble around to a back yard where lots of those youngens are singing Happy Birthday to a little one whose only had two others before this, (yes it was magic granny time)and when you get back whole heaps of stuff have happened in Cyberville.
Okay, no adult themes here. Nothing of a sexual, violent or coarse language nature.
Love you all,
Syd
Well! Poets lurk where you least suspect them!
LOL riba dog video - syd would love that one, prolly just like the one that lives next door to her. Keep mallets handy.
Oh BTW gray/grey, nonevermind to me, same ting, I am fully bilingual and can't spell in either language anyway.
Hope you get a few rays of sunshine on your trip(s). Be careful out there, there are all kinds of nuts on the road.
C.
SF - Jumper Cables ... Check (got 'em) ... np on the poem I should have done better.
Wendy - Thanks for the safe travels, glad you got some exercise, I should be doing more ... just low on ambition about now. Love the Dog video, clever and well done IMO ... LOL!
Tig - Glad to hear the sinuses are holdin' up so far, sad that the kids had to go but I'm sure it was a nice visit and maybe you can go see them in the not too distant future ... maybe we need to get you a dog ... they're awful nice friends to have around and the grand daughter would love it too.
D

Thank you for writing that poem Dave
You're a poet and don't know it ...
Allergies ... Don't get me started, no seriously, I can wait another month, don't get me started.
Spring... It's a Florida nightmare for allergy sufferers. I've got a huge Lychee tree in front that is loaded with buds and a preserve behind me that's full of pines. We are covered in pollen, the cars, house, everything, is covered thick. I'm coughing from it because it's like a cloud. Thankfully no sinus problems, knock on wood!
It is a quiet day here and on the forum. My daughter, her husband and my grand daughter were here for 2 weeks. They left yesterday and it's as quiet as a tomb around here. I don't like it
Keep up the good work, all of you!
HYDRATE!!
All I can visualize when you guys say kill kill kill is the dog from the summer of sam. I have a very warped sense of humor I know.
Not meant to offend!
