LOL Steff - it does make dry reading i suppose but then when has the truth been a bad thing? this treatment does make you feel crappy - every day - and worse on weekends =\
i can't begin to tell you how much i admire all of you who have and are persisting with it ...
Thanks for your kind words =)

Hiya Catie,
It's great to hear that things ae going well
It made me chuckle when you said he has to try hard to be grumpy!
I remember Greg put a blog link in one of his posts a while back - if he wanted to he could put it in his signature so people could check it out. It's a great idea to write it all down. I have friend who has kept a journal for years and she writes in it every day. I did try and do this myself on tx, but failed miserably -" Feel like ****", gets a bit boring after a couple of entries LOL.
Love Steff xx

six weeks down already!!
we are finding that communication and knowledge are twin keys to keeping a positive spin and sense of humour about this unpleasent and unrelenting treatment regime
also for Greg it has been REALLY important to feel and indeed to be in control of what he is doing and knowledgable about the choices he makes
for example - it has been most important to Greg to have a GP that we trust, like and who LISTENS and doesn't bully or patronise - for instance Greg took his time about trying some anti depressants - and when he decided to consider them he was able to ask all the questions he needed about the options available - when he felt he had all the information he needed - HE chose to take them and HE chose to keep the dose to a minimum and HE will adjust the level to a higher amount if he feels the need - HE is in control and he feels empowered by that
i can see the constant illness and inability to function normally, does get to him on occasion - but you know - he's never lost his sense of humour - his temper on occasion yes - but he even has a laugh at himself about that afterwards
his posative attituded is inspiring - he's only felt really 'down' once after his first 'riba rage' when he threatened me with a pillow - after this initial scare he just yelled at me a couple of times then laughed at himself when he calmed down - he's taking medication to reduce anxiety to combat that and it's settled him back to his normal 'grumpy old barstard' self - he decided to be a GOB when he turned 50 LOL - he's not actually very good at it really - too cheerful - whistles and sings and has the BEST smile that happens at the drop of a hat =))
we had top grade news yesterday about his bloodwork results - just fantastic!! he's worked so hard at doing the absolute best to help this treatment work and the reduction in viral load and the normal liver function results were just what he needed to inspire him even more
as for me - i see him gulping his meds and injecting on fridays and it still gives, and him for that matter, the horrors at just what he's actually putting into himself - but repetatively and always there is the reminder of what the inevitable result would be if he wasn't doing this
my job for the duration is to be there with him - be his sounding board - help him stay grounded - keep myself informed - and make sure his nutritian is A1 - not much else to do apart from that
i can't begin to tell you how much i admire all of you who have and are persisting with it ...
