I do take 150mg of (happy pills) effexor and that seems ok. Don't hesitate to talk to the doc about your moods. Unfortunatly they are not magic so sometimes a little coaching or counsiling need to be added. Just remember your body doesn't lie, listen to it.

Hi Pinkkat I had some of those side effects on treatment but I was trucking threw it but with the sleepless nights and the anxiaty it was causing me I talked to my doc about a few diffarent options here in Michigan we now have medical marijuana which did wonders for me I dont sujest that you start this on your own talk to your doc about it but it helped me in so many way's ie: I ate more so I did not loss weight on treatment I was able to sleep at night so less crabby during the day I felf cool calm and colected I stopped snapping on people and just felt good I took it in very small doses 2 grames lasted me like over a month I just used it at nigth or a little on the weekends just to help relax and for me it was better then having to start taking more pills good luck with all :) but above all else talk to your doc and get his views on it one thing that took me by suprise is while my doc and my nurse were ok with it when I had to see someone else in the practice and told them about it they did not think it was wise so it just goes to show that diff doc's feel diff way's about diff med's good luck finding something that works great for you :)

Hi Everyone.
I agree, anyone who needs support drugs should get them. Hopefully they will work out great and give you the help you need.
Myself, I'm keeping an eye in the mirror and as yet have not needed support drugs. I may be the exception but I also made plans and arangements so that during tx I dont have to work (except whatever light schedule I feel comfortable with) and I set aside most all of my classes as well as family and social obligations.
I'm doing this full time and giving myself lots of mirror time, as much rest as needed, making sure I get all my nutritional needs and otherwise taking everything very slow and very easy.
I know not everyone has this luxury and I consider myself very fortunate.
I hope you get the help you need Alicia, I wish you the best.

Hi Alicia,
Sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. I'd suggest you speak with your Doctor as soon as possible and hopefully he will find some anti-depressants to help you thru your tx. Many of us need this extra bit of support to help get thru it, tx can really play with your head/emotions. I was on prozac myself and then came off them a wee while post-tx.
Also, it helps to remember it is the tx making you feel like this, and it won't last forever.
Hope things improve soon and let us know how you get on.
Hugs

Ya went through it. Got 50mg's of Zoloft. Mental health was the toughest part of tx for me. Get it going ASAP !!
Forum I am telling a member to seek help with her problems by getting AD's if you have a problem with it I suggest you look in the mirror and ask yourself if your doing o.k..

Hello I have been on the treatment for 6 weeks and all of the sudden I am so depressed and short tempered and have lost all of my drive. I am a full time student and I have to keep my drive so I can graduate. I did take on too many classes... but now i am in it so I hvae to just hang on. But anyway I feel miserable and unstable, I cry at the drop of a hat. Has anyone else gone through this on tx?
I am grateful.. other than this and being tired I am doing well. I just wish I could snap out of it!
