I finished my incevik last week. I had ice cream, egg nog, dipped bread in olive oil and herbs...anything to come up with that 20 gm of fat. It worked fine for me...no reason it shouldn't for you as well.

Pressed Coconut Oil has about 14 grams of fat in one tablespoon. It is very healthy and easy to eat with a glass of milk in the morning.

Egg Nog is a good one! Guacamole works too. Milk shakes, corned beef hash, one of those fat Hebrew National Knockwurst hot dogs, Bare Naked Fruit & Nut Granola. I find that ANYTHING starts to taste very gross after just a couple of days so I try to keep up a rotation.

I've been alternating; I am soooo sick of food in general let alone all the 'junk' I try to find that has the fat requirements I need; and I am just ending week 1
at first it was Cream Cheese bagel with chocolate milk; after day three I had to really force myself to eat it all.
Then I would just have chocolate cake or pizza etc
Now I just down three tblspns of Peanut butter (uuuuuuuuuugggggghhh) with milk and eat normally -ish in between doses; but I do have back up foods;
Popcorn;the type I got; one small bag is the whole 20 grams for one dose.
Going to try the Eggnog
Half a creamcheese bagel, one cupcake, a tblspn of Peanut butter and milk
etc.
lol I told my mother when she was watching me down tons of fatty foods with my meds; just hook it in an iv or something yeah?
Why can't they invent a "Fat Pill" with 20 grams of fat in it that one can take WITH their other pills??? would be soooo much easier.

I finished my Incivek about ten days ago or so. In the mornings I could not eat at 6 am. Just could not hold anything down, period. I did two tablespoons of olive oil, took my pills and went back to bed.
My VL has been all zeros since week four, so apparently it worked.

I wasn't told if the fat had to be with anything solid, but I added something solid anyway. I was worried the tbs of olive oil would get washed down too quickly to adequately absorb the Incivek.
I've found the easiest for me to stomach at 6:00 am is some cookies washed down with some whole milk. It doesn't take much if it's a rich cookie. Sometimes I'll just slug a TBS of olive oil, then eat a small bowl of cereal.
I agree, the fat eating at these hours is a bitch. I gained 6 lbs in the 2 months I've been taking Incivek, but I was at normal weight before, so I can handle a bit extra for a while.
So for me, the bottom line is ANYTHING that will improve my chances I will do, even if I have to choke down solid foods when a "shot" of oil would be easier.
Best of luck to you Robert!

Yes, ditto...so far (four days) the 20 grams of fat has been the toughest part of this TX. Much different than my first time around (2001 relapsed) when it was simply Peg/Reb. And all that fat needs to be choked down when I have the least desire to eat it! 9am, 4pm midnight. Plus the 7-9 hours also means I cannot just "sleep-in" some days to catch up on my winks. Sooner or later I will find a suitable rhythm.

I am new to the board and in week 11 of treatment. The 20 grams of fat seems to be the hardest part so far. Saw a nutritionist prior to treatment to get healthy fat ideas but that all went out the window after about week 4 (can't even stand the sight of peanuts or avacado at this point). Thinking about food makes me a little sick, especially at 5:30am and 9:30 pm. So far, the easiest thing for me to do is 4 tbsp of heavy cream with some choc syrup for flavor. You can take it like a shot and not really taste it. I usually take with some bread or 1/2 bagel just to have some solid food in there as i found the RIBA was making me sick if I didn't take with solid food. My dr said I just needed fat regardless of solid or liquid.
Lunches are a lot easier because a sandwich with cheese and mayo with some chips or pizza with meat will work. Because I don't need the fat at dinner, I try to eat something small but healthy with a lot of protein.
My best advice is just find something with 20g that you can tolerate and do it until you get sick of it.
So far, so good and only 10 more days of choking down the fats.
Good luck.

From what the nurse told me the reason you take fat is it increases the absorption. So in my mind liquid or not if it's all in there your fine. They just said eat the fat not anything like how much food just 20g fat. I've drank olive oil more than once, but I'm no doctor. I used to love peanuts but now they almost make me sick. Peanut butter, however, still is has been and always will be a fine choice. Even after treatment . Also cream cheese is good. Sometimes I just go get a cheesesteak or something and don't even worry about it or like a burger because there's an AWESOME chance they have alot of fat. Especially with cheese, I try to go easy on the bacon because I'm not trying for a heart attack. I have a pretty strong stomach though when it does feel messy I go for the olive oil or peanut butter toast with milk. OH YEAH dark chocolate apparently if crazy good for your heart (in moderation) 70% cocao and above, usually just a few peices will do it. Hope that helps a little bit.
God bless,
-Mike

I found that I had to have some liquid. My mouth was dry, and nothing tasted right, so I started drinking a glass of milk with some food, or sorry to say that there were a few times toward the end that the nausea was so bad all I could do was drink a high calorie Ensure (meal replacement). For awhile, I ate toaster streudels for breakfast, with a scrambled egg.
I think if you can eat food, great, otherwise we eat or drink what we can just to get our 20 grams!

I think it depends on what it is, they say ice cream is a good eay to reach your fat count, but in theory it is just cream. I have a hard time eating in the mornings, so i have been drinking one glass of eggnog. It seems to be ok for me.
