LA, I have been 2 something WBcS since 2nd month of tx. Lowest I got is 2.0. It moves around but stays n the 2s. I have not caught anything yet but don't get around a lot of people a lot of the time. It is around 2 right now. My MD said it is expected to drop down like that real soon.

Is it true that our low wbc cannot be improved with iron supplements because we're dealing with bone marrow? I was under that impresssion for some reason.

Mine hit 1.7 I was put on neurpregen. (sp) shots and it is up to 2.0. After a few weeks. Hang in there.
I work in a hospital so I was a bit concerned I'd get something really odd, but sofar so good.
I take zinc and eat tons of oranges as well.

Dee is correct but if you look at your lab work on the left hand side of the page is usually your results then on the right hand side it should show "normal range". Each lab has a slightly different normal range because the way they test is different. Be sure to look at that for the most accurate results. Because of this, it is ideal to get all of your lab tests done from the same lab for consistency. :)

Hi Renee, In answer to your question, WBC's run from 4.0 to 10.5 on average. Anything under that is low and of course anything above would be high. Mine is being monitored as well. Last week mine was 3.6. It is low so my blood dr gave me an iron supplement so we will see if that works. Good luck with everything. Hugs Dee

just curious what the average or norm for a white blood cell count is? I am supposed to be having weekly labs to keep tabs on my WBC as I was told it has dropped to 2.somthing, I have been trying to avoid big groups of ppl or anyone who seems sick as I don't know how low it is now. They were talking of doing a weekly shot if it got lower. I was supposed to start weekly labs 3 weeks ago but only now this week have been able to get to the Hospital Lab to get it done and to add to the mess the office never sent the standing order Calling the office later today to see if I can clear it up.
