I don't think you need to worry about the lack of side effects. Some of us are just lucky when it comes to peginterferon and ribavirin. Once I got down to just those two drugs, I have very slight joint stiffness in the knees and hips, a few very small clusters of itchy "chickenpox" thingies, and I have to watch my red cells and hematocrit, since the ribavirin is tough on them. But the nurse practitioner takes care of that for me after labs every two weeks, so all I have to do is remember my morning and evening ribavirin doses, and my Sunday evening shot, and all is well.
I guarantee you will still have a few bad days from time to time, particularly when you forget to drink lots of water. But don't worry about your treatment. It will do what it will do as long as you keep up with your part. Count your blessings that your body is tolerating this onslaught with such grace.

Thanks for the reassurance, it's kinda what I need being so new to this whole treatment deal...
I appreciate your input Alan in regards to sx because I was (and still am) a little bit worried I am not responding to treatment, because I don't seem to be getting many side effects? I know it's early days-day 3-but I have shall we say an overactive imagination and I question if it's working!!! Could I really be that lucky or should I just chill out and appreciate the "good days" for what they are?
I suppose I should just be prepared to expect the unexpected...
Or the Spanish Inquisition (but then again NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!!*) *Monty Python =P
Just trying to keep my mood upbeat and do all the "suggested/right" things :)
Oh, and to clarify I am doing double treatment for 24 weeks because I have Genotype III
I suppose this is a good lesson in patience because I will know more when I undertake my first blood tests in a month. My partner is really loving that part because he is always trying to teach me patience!

Sounds like your early treatment days are going to be a lot like mine. The shots and the Riba pills didn't bother me all that much. It was the protease inhibitor (in my case Incivek) that really got my side effects going. If you are in AUS, or if you don't have genotype 1 you may not be using that third drug at all. If this is the case, congrats, you may have a fairly easy go of it.
Welcome to this elite corps and good luck with treatment. Keep us posted. It sounds you are excited to be moving forward, and that attitude will be contageous to others who may be having a bad day.

Good plan! Great that you`ve got your partner there to give you a hug, makes so much diffference! It`s natural to feel anxious and nervy after your first shot, you`ve been building up to this for quite a while, not knowing what to expect.

I'm staying up a lil late so hopefully I just crash into a nice deep sleep! And sleep in a bit 2moro ;)
What a difference a few hours make, I got what I wished for =P
So far I have sx of hot dry eyeballs (H2O guzzling to combat that), and I feel full of nervous twitchy energy so I've been pacing the house on restless jelly legs lol, and I had a tiny sniffle but a hug from my partner cured that one!
I'm loving this forum and soaking up all the info like a good lil sponge :)

Not everyone gets sx from their shots, so sounds like you`re one of the lucky ones! But try and take it easy today. And don`t forget..drink plenty of water!

I have been reading, reading, reading about Hep C for a looooooooooong time from many sources and this forum has been a great help!
Starting treatment has been a waiting game for me that I'm sure many have been through but...
Today was the first day I started treatment! (HUZZAH!) I had my first peg injection about 6 hours ago and I don't feel any different? I've been told that this is normal for some people but in a weird way I want to feel something so I know it's working! =P
However I am grateful for this, lets see how long it lasts before I start ranting and raving lolz
Just had to post this so I don't shout it off my balcony coz I'm sooooo excited!
