Thanks for the good thoughts Kro. My grammar leaves a little to be desired. I'm actually UND at the 4 week labs already which is what got me started down this path of considering my (hopeful) options.

i got told that if you were undetected at week 4 you only had to do 24 weeks.
and that if no 2 log drop by week 12, cease treatment..
i was 17mill, and it dropped to 1300 in week 4, so they said, stay on 48 weeks... by week 15 i was undetected, but still stay the full course 48 weeks.
thats the deal i got told and am doing...

What is the criteria for who goes 24 or 48 weeks? My Google research indicates that you should be UND at weeks 4 and 12. But I seem to remember someone saying that your baseline VL had to be under a certain level? However I can't seem to find that info now. I've been planning to go the distance as my doc told me 48 weeks was the standard for Geno 1s. But that conversation was from last June and I haven't been back in to discuss with him since I began treatment (and reading the forums religiously). I'm prepared to go the distance but the 4 week UND results have me a little hopeful about a possible 24 week scenario.
Thanks! Dave

It used to be, with the 2 drug, peg and riba only Tx, Geno 1's always went 48 weeks.
Now, with Incivek, if you're Und from week 4 and on, and you are not cirrhotic, 24 weeks is the recommendation from Vertex (the makers of Incivek).
I think that info is on your Incivek drug info sheet, (the big one) in your Incivek box.
If not, I know it is on the Incivek.com site, under:
Ohh good! early UND is great!!
Your grammar's fine, carry on!

"Please see full Prescribing Information for INCIVEK including the Medication Guide."
Look at "table 1", and also the footnotes about cirrhosis.
The V/l numbers for Tx futility (ending Tx due to inadequate response) are there too.
Good luck, hope you get the EVR (Und @ 4 weeks)
