I have tried various combos based on my appitite which has been a roller coaster ride so far. I'm @ week 11 with Incivek and counting the minutes til it's done. Lately dairy has been my fat of choice, as I drink a large glass of whole milk mixed with 1/2 a container of chocolate flavored "Boost." It's actually comforting in the morning when the last thing I want to focus on is meds. i usually have it with a bowl of oatmeal or a 1/2 a bagle w/cream cheese. I used to do nuts, pistacios, almonds, etc. but I find they're too dry these days as I do all I can to stay hydrated. I did the olive oil early on and quickly gave up on it because it made me sick! I'm now told it would have been better to take it with bread or something to absorb it in the stomach. It's not easy to keep this up but keep trying different variations because it's important and I swear it helps the sx if you are sure to do enough fat. Otherwise the poison looks for another area of the bodyto invade!
Good luck!

Hi, I really like coconut oil and as I understand it is the highest in fat of all the oil, and the best for you, It's also pretty yummy, adds a little coconut favor to everything, I also use it as a butter sub, as hubby is lactose intolerant. I wonder if this would be a good one for you folks on the fat quest?
good luck, BB, Iris

Thanks for the good ideas everyone. When reading food labels, I was surprised just how hard it is to get 20g of fat! When I'm trying to lose weight, it seems everything has too much fat. Now in this scenario it seems nothing has enough fat in servings small enough for him to choke down at 10pm and 6am especially. He did think he could do the olive oil chug so we'll try that today.
I truly appreciate everyone's time and effort in helping us! This seems to be a great group of people.

Hi Elizabeth, there are more ideas for tasty snacks on this thread too..
This is definitely the fun part of treatment. Sometimes I found it hard to eat the full 20g serving in 1 go, so a good alternative is honey roasted peanuts. Contrary to its name, the peanuts are actually deep fried - 2 handfuls, nibbled slowly 30 mins before medication, does the trick. There's also cheesecake, greek yoghurt, cookies, doughnuts, chocolate and other nuts too. (Read the food labels for detailed fat values)
Enjoy!

spoonful of peanut/almond butter? 1/2 avocado? the slug of oil seems relatively easy, fish oil is good for you too. of course there is always crackers and butter or bread and butter

When I just didn't want to eat, the easiest thing was to slug a 1 1/2 tablespoon shot of olive oil. I would chase it with a gulp of lemonade, or OJ. Olive oil is one of the healthiest oils.
Good luck, Happy (virus) hunting!

My husband has totally lost his appetite since starting tx 10 days ago. Any suggestions for the high-fat snacks he's supposed to eat other than the obvious ice cream / cheese / mayo / bacon? He wants the smallest snack possible with the required 20 gr of fat.
