Genotypes seem to be more common to different geographies. For example 1A is the most common type here in the U.S.
That being said, there's plenty of types to go around. I happen to be 1B as well.
Best, Dave

Hi Phil G,
Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit older and certainly drank too much, particularly when in worked in the UAE. Probably helped the virus attack a sick liver. Have been dry for 15 years. Glad to hear you were undet. at 8 weeks- gives me hope. Thanks

Hey Mallini I am doing the Vic tx and am currently in week 16 out of 28! Like Phil posted--week 8 is the 1st important date for VL--I was lucky & was UND at that time. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. The drop in RBC/WBC start--pretty much from the first week and increase with the addition of the Vic. My doctor said the biggest drop usually occurs or starts needing attention some where between week 10- 14. It certainly did for me--and like Phil said it is just part of the deal. I have been prescribed Procrit for RBC and it has helped. I think--have experienced a little more increase in energy and stamina. Every day is a new day! Hope you are feeling well--make sure you post ANY concerns or worries--eveybody is really helpful around here! Take care Shep

Hi malini!
I was lucky I got UND after my 4 week results... However I'm a different Gen to you, having a big drop is encouraging- maybe 8 week or 12 week you will be UND? I'm no expert but loads of people on this site are!
Keep up the good work, sounds like you are doing well
Hugs

Hi all,
Just finished my leadin 4 weeks of Peg and riba. Start victrelis tomorrow.
VL has dropped from 1.28m to 3,030. Hb has dropped from 148 to 104,
and platelets from 138,000 to 94,000. Gen 1b, cirrhotic, 69y old.
Just a bit of lethargy. Is anyone on victrelis, and what have they experienced regarding Hb and platelets? Also, for the lucky ones that get undet., how many weeks does that take? I have my 2 log drop, but wonder if still not undet. after 4 weeks on vict., how long should you remain hopeful? The forum is a great site for me.

Mallini,
Week 4 really isn't important for Victrelis, Week 8 is. They did not even run a Week 4 on me, but was undetected at Week 8, starting at 1.9 mil. Looks like you doing fine and on your way.
My hemoglobin started off at 14 (probably 140 for you, units are confusing), started falling from the beginning, hit the 10's in Week 10, and below 10 in Week 14, when they reduced my riba.
My platelets started of at 140, and now bounce around 100.
The falling blood counts are just part of the deal. I have been doing weekly labs since Week 6.
