After my 1st week on treatment I woke up and told my husband that I got a mosquito bit on my jaw. Well it's still there and here and there it'll feel like I just got bit. I had read that putting ice on it helps. I put a cold pack on the "bites".
We seem to have the same timing. I began April 16 and will begin Victerlis on day 29.

The topical meds for my arm rash sure worked great, am rash-free now. I've got some SP-50 sun block, and more long sleeve shirts on the way. BTW, the medication is called Betamethasone Dipropionate lotion USP, .05%.

Yes, for me the rash is not itchy, but very unsightly. Makes me look like I have some awful disease (Oh, wait.... I do). So I stay covered up pretty much all the time. I do a ton of volunteer work with my ham radio club, and over the years have collected many long sleeve t-shirts from the cool weather events. They have moved to the top of the stack.

Well even after reading this thread, knowing about staying out of the sun and prior to today being very careful --I did it. Went for a walk with my daughter and our wild puppy--it was overcast and it was only about 45 minute walk. Now my arms are itching like crazy--guess just needed to find out for myself. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!

Yea, I'm definitely seeing the writing-on-the-wall, and will be joining the legions of the pasty complected un-dead/vampire legions.
....however, I am getting some more long-sleeve tee shirts, and just bought 1/2 dozen bandanas off ebay.
Skin cancer? It wouldn't come as a complete surprise if at some time in the future i would get such a diagnosis.

Tim, you old horse trader, you. Just pretend you have been diagnosed as a skin cancer risk. I know you won't stay indoors, but cover up completely when you go out. I got covered with little red spots just from mowing the grass in a tee shirt. Never again. Well, not till after July 22.

The longer you're on tx the more you have to watch out for being in the sun too long. In my case anyway. Towards the end i felt like i was a vampire, even to step in the sun made my skin feel like it was on fire. It also felt paper thin too. My forearms and bald head where always looking rashy while i was on tx, and still do a bit, but it's clearing up slowly but surely.

Well today I went to a scheduled appointment with my case manager, who examined the rash(and the rest of my skin) and determined that the rash is probably not a result of drug allergy. Rather, she says perhaps a photo-sensitivity(to sunlight exposure) is the likely culprit. I'm inclined to believe this theory, and will be wearing long sleeves this Summer. I got a prescription for a steroidal topical medication, so hopefully this rash will be better soon.
Oh, and baseline VL=1.45m.

My itches started early in tx. Nothing bad, no rash, but kind of like a salt- marsh mosquto bite. That's when I did two things - switched to a mild, non-deoderant, non-anti-bacterial, non-fragrant soap (Kirk's Coco Castille) and started using a recommended lotion (Aveeno) on a daily basis. That helped a lot. I still have a few persistant itches (mainly back) and have theorized that those are the spots that get the steady stream of water most of the time when I shower.

Thanks all! Well it looks like I'm in-the-norm...lord knows we all want to be 'normal' eh? ;) Seriously, I have to count my blessings, aside from a little fatigue the day after "shot day", I've not really felt too much abnormal. I will have to watch-out for getting too much sun(I like working in the yard); will have to pick up a few more long-sleeve T shirts.

in my first couple of weeks my hands peeled. like the palms... i knew something serious was goin on for sure... and lately, i keep out of the sun... but my forearms are the most itchy. i think its coz they are exposed to the sun more often than the rest of me...
moisturize, or 1% hydrocortisone cream did it for me. and its soooo hard not to scratch, but that makes it worse...

Perhaps sun exposure? Gotta be really careful, as these drugs can cause photo-sensitivity.
I found ceterizine (generic for Zyrtec) helped me. I was on the Incivek triple TX, but most of my itchiness came from the riba.
Don't forget the water!

I emailed my NP and reported this, but haven't heard back from her. Is this a bit weird, or have some of you had anything similiar?

Hi Tim--when I first started I had a very mild rash on my upper chest and neck--it was really mild and eventually went completely away. It was not very itchy and after hearing on the pain & misery the poor Incivek folks were enduring --I felt lucky. For a month or so I used some itch creme and lots of lotion!
My first few weeks did go pretty well--the first two shots of Pegasys were killers--but generally sx just lasted through the weekend. The usual sx--tired, achy, grouchy. Hang in there, take it easy, and just take each week as they come. Just when you think it's all under control--it is not.
