Alex, treatment duration is not depended of early response. If you are naive patient (was not treated before), your fibrosis is not F4 (cirrhosis), you get UND on weeks 8,12 and 24 - you will be treated 28 weeks. No shorter way.
This is correct hang in there alex if i did it so can you!

Looking forward to watching the responses on this one Alex. From what I can find anything earlier not mentioned. Still we can only hope. hope you're well.

Hi Alex.
Unfortunately, I doubt your doc will do that. They follow the standard of care, especially with newer treatments like this.
The Victrellis site treatment chart says "At treatment week eight - Undetectable" will qualify for 28 weeks total. They make no other distinction for earlier EVR (early viral response).
But who knows...you can always ask.
Either way, it's awesome you got an undetectable so quickly.
Good luck on your coming job!

Hey Alex--I have not heard of shortening the tx with the Victrelis--pretty sure have to get through the whole 28 weeks. But you are half way there! I have reached the last 8 weeks and I am crawling through but I am making it! You will do great!

Hi guys, once again, what would I do without you.
Ok guys, i'm a little confused here about the duration of tx on Victrelis. As you are aware it's usually 28 weeks of tx (4+24) if its UND at week 8. But if it was already UND right after lead in with Interferon and Riba at week 4(RVR), can tx be reduced by some weeks to 24 or 26 in total? I know it's not a big deal to some, but i gotta hurry cuz I got a job lined up for me and wanna have some summer left for me lol. Doctor mentioned something about 26 weeks but maybe because I confused him. Does anyone seen an "success of the early discontinuation chart" or something like that
