Thanks, Alan. I appreciate all the info I can get and honestly think there is no such thing as TMI when you're dealing with medical issues. Everyone has the same bodily functions and in this situation, we really need the education. So thank you!

Like Dave my diarrhea and burning were Incivek related, and began to end by the second day after Incivek. I never had to take any diarrhea medicine but I was constantly treating the burn, with Witch Hazel wipes, Prep H products, mild soaps and night hours without pants to allow air to get everywhere. Sorry for too much information. You two hang in there and he'll be feeling so much better in five more weeks. Alan

My experience was 90% Incivek. I still get it mildy once in a while but it was a constant challenge on Incivek. I started with a half tablet of Ammodium once a day. As my tolerance grew I upped the dose ending at three per day. Packaging says no more than four a day.

Thanks for the help! Dave, does this particular side effect go away or diminish after you stop taking the Incivek?

Everyone is different but the diarrhea is a common side effect. Give the Immodium a try; it's allowed. I used it every day during the Incivek weeks.
Best, Dave

My husband is starting week 8 of tx and up till a couple of days ago hadn't had the dreaded diarrhea. It's getting bad now (though fortunately without the ground glass some discuss) and we're wondering if this lasts for the duration of treatment or is a temporary event. Should he take immodium or something or is that not allowed?
