Timely topic. Stayed home from work today because of back, but can work from home fairly seemlessly. My pain is around the right kidney area, and bends me over sideways. But really can't say if this is related to tx or just my recurring back issues (more sins of the past). This happened unpredictably with half my first 6 shots, and went away when I quit taking extra calcium, magnesium, and potassium for leg cramps, which also went away for the most part when I got the water intake down. Read somewhere that interferon affects the way the kidneys stores minerals. Kinda concidental though, since I shot on the right side on Friday, and the reds marks are always more pronounced and stay longer on that side. Also have a suspicion that my couch has been permenantly molded to mine and my dogs horizontal shape and is no longer ergonomically right. Trying to stay off it today, not easy.
Did see doctor last week, and he probed for my liver. He said tx can cause it to swell.

Hey Jo
I get pain in my back in the liver area every week. I know we had a thread going about this at some point and it fell under back pain as the topic. Bet you can find it with a search. Glad things seem to be going well otherwise!

I had some slight pain in the liver area the first three weeks or so. It wasn't awful, just noticeable. Then it went away. I figured there was a war going on in there, and some discomfort might be normal. I also had a little "shelf" that formed right where the liver peeks out from under the ribs, like the liver was slightly swollen. That, too, went away. Later on I just admitted that anything is possible when you take a beating like we are taking, and I blamed everything from my liver pain to the economy on my treatment. Nice to know that all bad things can be explained so easily. Alan
