I ended up with a 36-week protocol. I did the 12 weeks of telepravir, along with 1200mg ribavirindaily and 180mcg of peginterferon weekly. Then I am doing 24 additional weeks of just peg and riba. The doses have been up and down as my blood got worse and better. Tomorrow the last box of medicine arrives, and on July 28 I will be done. Life after Incivek (telepravir) has been a breeze compared to those first 12 weeks. You have a lot of good things to look forward to, even with the long treatment schedule. Sure the low hemoglobin and tired feelings will persist. But the overall quality of life will go way up now that Incivek is done. Congratulations on making it, and also on your excellent VL results.

Well took my last Teleprevir on saturday. I also did my shot on saturday. Can't really say if one is offsetting the other. Still waiting to feel better and get some of my energy back! Yesterday and last night I had the flu like symptoms and was freezing/shivering. Prob from the interferon shot. Still seem to have the cough right now too...Just hope as the week goes on, I'll start feeling better.
Oh yeh...4 weeks was UND...8 weeks was UND...have to see doctor next week for my over 12 weeks test.
My doctors plans are that I am to go a full 48 weeks with peg and riba. This differs from the normal 24 additional weeks once teleprevir has been completed when using it on a patient that relapsed in the past. I asked him his reasoning for this...his answer.
"he wants me to go at least to the 24 additional week point. From there he wants to take the other 24 weeks one week at a time. If I can handle it with no side effects or issues he feels this would give me my greatest chance at beating this...since it did come back the first time after my 6 months test from being off treatment. He said at any point after the 24 weeks point if I have any issues at all we are safe cause we completed the required regimen from the folks who make Teleprevir. So with that...if something should come up, Iam off completely after the 24 week point. If nothing comes up...I continue with Peg and Riba for the full 48 week."
