First of all, does Incivek count as one of the methods of birth control? Because it was highly effective for me. My wife was very excited for the end of the Incivek days.
But seriously I'd get on the phone to the pharmacist and/or manufacturer and find out if there is any contraindication/effect on your birth control method.
The danger is getting pregant while either partner is on Ribavirin:
Significant teratogenic and /or embryocidal effects have been demonstrated in all animal species exposed to ribavirin. In addition, ribavirin has a multiple dose half-life of 12 days, and it may persist in non-plasma compartments for as long as 6 months. Ribavirin therapy is contraindicated in women who are pregnant and in the male partners of women who are pregnant. Extreme care must be taken to avoid pregnancy during therapy and for 6 months after completion of therapy in both female patients and in female partners of male patients who are taking ribavirin therapy. At least two reliable forms of effective contraception must be utilized during treatment and during the 6-month posttreatment follow-up period.

I was told we needed to use 2 forms of birth control, neither of which could be the pill.

Just read online that Incivek might interfere with birth control pills. Great, no one told me That before... I feel like my own doctor that has to get my own info and treatment. I am taking Lo Estrin, which is a low hormone pill daily, works for now. Anyone on birth control has information on interference?

I would definitely check it out with your medical team, Margo. This is from the Incivek website -
"You must use 2 effective methods of birth control during treatment and for 6 months after all treatment has ended. These 2 forms of birth control should not contain hormones, as these may not work during treatment with INCIVEK. Talk to your healthcare provider about the forms of birth control you should use during this time. Two weeks after stopping INCIVEK, you can use a hormonal form of birth control as one of your two forms of birth control."
Best of luck ~ Jill xx
