i have always had lower back and hip problems and found that being on the medication makes the pain worse. Keep monitoring it.....as I have heard some people develop rheumatoid arthritis while on the interferon.

Hey Margo I had that a few weeks ago--my hands were swollen and hurting. I actually called the doc's office and they made me come in. They wanted to make sure it was not uric acid (sp?) --the stuff that causes gout (?)--but it appears to have just been a weird accumulation of fluid--it went away slowly. If your joints are red and hard you should call the doc. My PA gave me a topical medication--a liquid ibeprofen that helped soothe. But keep drinking water--hope it goes away soon

News, a friend of mine was on treatment for hep c 6 years ago just with riba and interferon. I remember our discussion about the treatment, before I was going to start mine 3 years ago. He couldnt get up from the bad, felt like crap and said it was a gruesome treatment. he was lucky that Incivek was not on his menu back then...

In all the world, one thing is certain..... It is always something with Incivek. The tricky part for me was the side effects keep changing and jumping around. So I never knew what to expect. But it works. Real good. So I guess we put up with it. Alan

Anyone experiences swelling in the hands and stiffness? Its hard to make a fist in the morning, feels like I'm wearing gloves. I am sure it's from drinking lots of water, isn't that what I'm supposed to do?? Without enough water I itch, with water I swell, isn't it always something with incivek??
