Hi Malcom:
Thanks for the information. You are so helpful. How many years have you have HEP C. Do you live in Canada or the US.
You are always helpful, and I appreciate your help. I have not started the treatment yet. May be in a month or so.

Hi Nancy, Yes, it is great when your Viral Load (VL) goes down. It means the drugs are working!. VL can be expressed in a variety of ways. The most common is as viral equivalents/ml of blood. Another common way is to use viral log. A VL of 1,000,000 copies/ml is equivalent to a VL of Log 6 copies/ml.
They both mean the same. There is a VL chart you can find by doing an internet search for HCV Viral Load chart. An easy way to remember it is to count the zeros eg 1million is 6 zeros, so is log 6. 100,000 is log 5 etc.

Is it a good sign when your viral load goes down? The doctor says viral log is more important than viral load? Can someone shed some lights on this?
