Hep C Olympics Opening Ceremony
If anyone missed it the Opening Ceremony was awesome. Many Counties represented. The entry procession was more of a shuffle then a march. Some werent even on a team but thought this was the line for the bathroom. Were not entirely sure about the musical choice but Leonard Cohens Closing Time did provide a snappy beat.
As part of the finale, numerous flame shooting syringes rose together to form one flaming pyre. Images of a burning Dragon could be seen in the flames. Nora Waterson performed Jerry Garcias Black Muddy River and was a fitting tribute to the games.
Quite a few folks have medaled so far. To make the games more interesting we have added a few more events.
Scratch (but dont sniff); which includes resisting, pretending not to and using garden rakes.
Recall: none, partial, relying on others and time delayed.
Water Sports will include bloated and constantly peeing
Unfortunately after the incident four years ago (which became a politically incorrect misinterpretation); the Broad Jump event has been cancelled.
We are still interested in more suggestions for sporting events

Renee, you may have come up with a new event. The Trot and Run Obstacle Course, consisting of the normal Trot and Run speed event, with added difficulty from improper footwear, slipping throw rugs, an occasional toy in the middle of the floor, and finally the stuck or slow zipper or button. Believe me, the added "excitement" makes this event a real nail biter. I have some experience to draw on. Alan

LMAO I loooove this!!! Linds says I would be in Climbing. lol (We live on the second floor), I would also add wieght lifting; it takes some time getting up out of bed or off the couch lol. Yesterday (though not normally) I would have won a medal in the Trot and Run; made record time to the bathroom from the bedroom in flipflops on a hard wood/tiled floor; slipped and slid but made it! With obstacles even! (furniture, attentive large dog etc) lol ;)

Vern, Don't lose that SOH!
Put me down for the Weightlifting, 75-80 Kg Division. Ater 19 weeks of intensive training, up to 8 hours a day, I find I can lift BOTH TV remotes with one hand, without puffing. Fatigue may be an issue, as we have 8 new dedicated Olympic channels.
Also put me down for the Javelin. I have become good at throwing darts.
