Hi and welcome from me too, Michael!  I wouldn`t worry too much about your viral load as it can naturally fluctuate from time to time and is not a good indication of the severity of your Hep C or how you would respond to tx (treatment).   We`ve had members who`ve started tx with much higher viral loads than you have who`ve been undetected within the first few weeks.

The only true way to determine the health of your liver is by having a biopsy or fibroscan.

I see by your other thread that you`ve already had some good advice on getting tx without insurance or money, so all the best of luck with getting it all sorted out.    Jill xx

Thanks for the links...looks like my liver is doing better, but my viral load is UP.

What kind of levels should I worry about? Some say the 10 million is super high and others

that it is not that bad....can the viral load fluctuate from 3 to 10 million fairly easy?

Hi Everyone,

right now I am sitting in a lot of fear around my results.

I had 3 tests done in Mexico where I was undergoing treatments for Hep C.

My initiat viral load was 8.3 million and I felt horrible.

After treatments I arrived a 2.9 million and felt fantastic!

These test where done in a acknowledged company in Canada.

I went back and did treatments here in USA for 4 months and feel even better.

My IgE was also really high 2170....now it is at 1046, so that is a good sign for me.

In all of this, I am feeling more energetic, my skin has cleared, less allergies and my eyes are clear.

The reason why I am sharing this is because I just got my lab results in and it came in much higher than

it has ever been. It just doesnt make any sense to me, and I wonder if there is a difference in the calculation of the numbers.

So I am asking if there is a person who has the appropiate knowledge to help me understand if these new numbers are

an apple to apple comparison.

Test from Canada was printed out in Spanish, hope this is not an issue:

test from Canada: Carga Viral Hep C (heptimax) 3,090,000 UI/ml where the reference range is <5.0    methos TMA

test from Sonora quest USA:Hep C qt rt-pcr   IU/mL 10700000   where reference range is <43 IU/mL

it also says it was done using: COBAS (R) AmpliPrep/COBAS (R) TagMan (R) Roche Molecular Systems

My IGe is 1046 as opposed to 2170 from last test

Please help me understand this thank you.

My main thing that I notice is that the reference range is totally different, which tells me I may not

need to worry so much,
