Kathy, an ALT of 160 is nothing to worry about. Your doc is correct in that you cannot have any more Inciv or Vict. However, try to follow the advice and get on a 7977 trial. New drugs will be available soon, so don't despair

She may be right with treating with another protease but 7977 is not a protease.
Ask about trials. Where do you live ?

The only thing is THEY are the biggest hep treaters in my city.. wonder why she told me that? hmmm.. she was ticked a tad when i quit, but she was not in my body!! she is a 125 lb fit woman. i really like her but.... that is why i am asking u guys if ur docs said no more protease inhibitors ever????

Don't beat yourself up Taz. It's not worth it. Screw it. What's done is done.
Get the choppers done and you will feel better. I did.
I think your Dr is misinformed. I failed tx with telaprivir and started a trial with 7977 four months later. Try to get on a trial if possible.
There are links are on here somewhere. You'll have to search or maybe I will find them later and post them.
Hang tough Taz. Things will get better. Just get through one hour at a time if you have to. We're here for you if you need us.

my alt is 160 my ast 108 that is the most they have ever been since i have kept up with those numbers. well i would have finished treatment 2 weeks agao had i styed on it. but the tooth was killin me. well tooth is still in my mouth. decided to have all the upper (most are capped) pulled & just get dentures. so i am really feeling down cuz i didn't tough it out for 11 more weeks thatg i had left. i really thought i was going to lose my mind there for a few weeks. so the doc's office in a certain tone of voice "Well we just can't treat u again" until possibly 5 yrs or more. ARE there any meds being investigated for us relaspers that now i uinderstand CAN"T be treated with protease inhibitors anymore.. had i really know this i may would toughed it out but head was hurting so bad everyday with tooth. it finally calmed down a bit. hind site is so freaking 20/20

Oh cheer up, there are new drugs in the works that are going to fix you up. I honestly believe we are seeing the start of the "golden age" for HCV treatment. Maybe you can get into a clinical trial like JIme said.
Doctors are sometimes full of sh*t, you know. Mine told me if I started and but didn't stay with the Incivek treatment, no other doctor would want to treat me.

If you get too sad and depressed, see a Dr to get treated for that ok? I think it might be a side effect of what you were on. *hugs*
