Hey Douglas.. I had 2 Units.. I did not feel like jumping rope but the color did come back into my face, I was as white as a ghost. and weak, it took about a week for me to feel a tad better.. but I was still on the Incevick.. all the best MJ

My birthday today and was hoping I would feel like going/doing something today, maybe start with church ths morning.
And yes, my friends are telling me color is back in my face.

I got 2 units of blood on Friday and started on weekly Procrit shots now and blood draws. H/H was 8/27. Cut back on the Rib to 800mg. 10 weeks into treatment. Feel like crap and still working full time as a nurse.

Hi MJ and JoAnne, the normal range for platelets is 150- 400. Mine were 220 before Rx. I'll start worrying if they drop to <25. Then I'll consider a bag of blood!

Thanks for everyones kind words of support.
With my counts the way they are and how I feel, I can only imagine what some are going
through with lower counts. Just hang in there as it does get better.
My Dr. is setting up a transfusion for me, hoping to get some kind of temp relief.

Hey Butch ..just thought I would share.. I understood your other medical conditions from previous post.. I guess from what others have shared in the past it's your treating physcian's call..
These were my counts @ 8 weeks when I had my blood transfusion: I was so weak I almost passed out in the lobby and I did not nor do I rarely drive or have driven in the past 4 months. They reduced my Riba dose from 1000 mg /600 mg.. on 11/14/12.. still feel like crap.. hang in there MJ
WBC: 3.2
RBC: 2.73
HEMOGLOBIN: 8.8
HEMATOCRIT 25.6
PLATELET CT: 228
MCV: 93.7

Would let u stay on treatment if that low.
Hope they go up soon. 5 more weeks!!!

I'm still on 1,200 mgms of Riba. My platelets are getting low but I'll cope.

The hospital where I do treatment has what is called 'MyChart-urmc' on the web.
