Hi Carol, here on the forum, fatigue mostly refers to a side-effect of treatment. The fatigue is mostly due to anaemia which is caused by all of the drugs, but mostly Ribavirin. Patients vary widely in the degree of anaemia they develop and it can be severe enough to require blood transfusions.
HCV can be a very silent disease with few symptoms even in the presence of severe liver damage. Fatigue is probably the most common symptom- the exact cause for this is uncertain, but it is a feature of all chronic diseases.

When people on these boards talk about fatigue from the HCV, are they talking about fatigue caused from the virus pretreatment, fatigue caused from the treatment, or both?
