Guys,
Do you realize that the original post was from 2013? Nk has not responded and is long gone.

Your mind has a lot to do with your physical well being. I had a 22 year marriage and a daughter and I was frantic when I found out I had HCV all that time. Neither my daughter or my ex-husband was infected. It is very difficult to transmit to others.

Dear NK,
No need to feel embarrassed about your worry. I have found long ago that when I am told to "relax" and "just not worry," it only gets worse.
I believe your worry about infecting your wife is one way you are expressing your love (even thought it drives her crazy :)).
Have you tried not pushing the feeling of worry/anxiety away, and letting it be present. Perhaps there is a way where, instead of trying to "move on," you can make space in your heart for all of the feelings for your wife that live there: love and affection, anxiety about her health, etc.
I find that this strategy of mindfulness and acceptance of my internal experience to be very helpful, and I hope it will help you too. If I could take a moment to recommend a book I think might be helpful: "Things Might Go Terribly, Horribly Wrong" by Kelly Wilson. It totally changed my life :)

I learned a long time ago to notworry about things that havent hsppened as it is usually a waste of time and energy. Being that you are in the hc gield and got stuck your employer. Is probably on yop of it and know what to do. Kiss your wife, tell her you love her,and deal with obstacles that are before you when theyare acually there. You will be gine man.

Relax or you'll be needing psychiatric help more than medical. The virus takes years to develop into acute symptoms usually. Most of the people on this forum were infected 30-40 years ago. Wait until the 6 month mark then get retested. 20% of infected people can spontaneously clear the virus without any treatment and it's the early stages that this can happen...the human immune system is capable of this in some people. It is not a death sentence having the virus and as you probably know there is research going continuously now. So take a deep breath and chill. We're all going through this together and you can get lots of help and infohere...you came to the right place.

Hello
It's my first time on the forum and I really need some help. I am a healthcare worker and I was recently tested positive for hep c antibodies and negative in 2 subsequent PCR tests, after a possible exposure at the end of September 2013.
You would have thought that this would put my mind at ease, and allow me to carry on with life, but I feel as if I'm having symptoms related acute hep C. Also I feel paranoid that I have the virus, and I have somehow infected my wife, as I have noticed yellow patches in the corner of both her eyes, which I have convinced myself is jaundice.
I really need help, as this is beginning to make me feel crazy, and its also affecting my marriage. My wife is convinced she is fine, and had not noticed any changes in her eyes, but I'm starting to lose my mind! My wife has tried to get me to move on with no success.
