That`s excellent news, congrats to you!!! I`m so pleased things are on the up for you at last, and it sounds like this job will be just the boost you need. Great that you can help your son out as well, being a mum I know how good that feels.
Time to celebrate, have fun! ~ Jill xx

Thank you Jill! I am just so happy to finally find something permanent with decent benefits, especially something local and being a direct employee rather than a job as a contract employee that I had to drive an hour each way to work. It will be a big load off my mind financially too. Now I can take my son to get his drivers license and car shopping, which I couldn't afford before because of the jump in insurance. He's a happy boy.
I had the physical today and they said I passed! There wasn't a specific question about HCV, but they did ask if I had any serious illinesses or diseases so I wrote hepatitis c down. I figured it's best not to lie because they would find out when I get treatment, which will hopefully be next year when the new meds get on the market.
I will be celebrating this weekend for sure. YAY!!!

I still work full time as a cardiac nurse at a hospital working the floor. No secret as to my status, especially going thru treatment. You won't have any problems.

Hi LC, it really shouldn`t be an issue, and I agree that being honest about it is the best way forward, if they ask. Great news about being offered the job, best of luck! Let us know! ~ Jill

Thank you! Hopefully, they won't ask. If they do, I am going to tell the truth and hopefully they are ok with it.

Hi LC,
Until I retired, I worked regular sessions at a large teaching Hospital as a Visiting Radiologist. The Medical Board was aware of my HCV status and there were no special conditions. In the USA there may be variation from state to state, but it shouldn't be a problem. Cheers

After being off work for about 2 3/4 years other than a few temp assignments, I was finally offered a full-time position today, contigent upon passing a physical/drug test.
The only thing is, it's at a hospital. Does anyone know how cool they are about that? I live in Illinois. I have been searching the web, and it looks like I might be able to, but I can't tell for sure. It's the only spot of rain on my parade today...
