You're in the right place Dillo to let every worry, problem and issue out instead of holding it in. Why carry the extra burden if you don't have to? I know we can't do anything medically, but we can at least give a cyber hug, an ear and encouragemet when needed. Hugs! x

Thanks Malcom
I was more worried about developing an Incivek rash this close to being through with it. I don't know if you know but Incivek Was given a black box warning by the FDA last December because of a couple of deaths of people who developed the rash and didn't stop treatment when told to.

Hi and welcome ,Dillo.
You've almost finished the hard bit (Incivek) and Undetected at 4 weeks is a great start. Keep them coming.
Your rash may be due to the Riba and hopefully will settle down. Good luck. Cheers.

Thanks Everyone Living alone I don't get much in the way of support so nice to have a place that's rooting for you. I do have my lab that supports me though ;) or I support her lol.
Zlikster I wish you a lot of luck with your treatment also.
Lisa The good moments come and go. I try not let the bad ones out (at least publicly) ....got to keep a few friends lol
I was worried about the new rashes start of the weekend cause of all I had read about Incivek rashes (plus the itching driving me crazy) but I have increased my water intake and been coating myself with moisturizer and they seem to be lightening up. Less than 2 weeks to go on Incivek!
JImi Glad you found a treatment that worked for you!
JoAnneh Glad yours worked too. Can't wait to see your SVR!

Hi Dillo,
You're very positive despite everything happening with you. It is great news that you are already Un detected and a good indication for SVR.
Good luck with treatment, I read more and more people reaching SVR and it is very encouraging! :D

Hello Dillo and welcome to the Forum
Congrats on makin to the 11th week, your treatment is not the easiest and with your other issues you are to making through a rough time. I give all the credit in the world for your efforts.
You might want to use the search engine for the questions you have for a faster response.
I am in the Abbots Labs Turquoise II Trial
You will find the forum members are willing and ready to help with all things HCV and show great care in the process.
I was diagonosed with Hep C a couple of years ago but stayed away from treatment seeing how then there was just the interferon and riba treatment that didn't sound too promising.
I also have heart problems and it wasn't recomended that I have a bioposy because I have been on Plavix for quite a while (stents).
Last Dec my new Hepatoligist did some kind of blood test that he said was about 94% correct and it said my liver was somewhere between stage 2 & 4 and he recomended treatment. He said even though better treatments might be out in 2 to 3 years that woud be better with my heart stents and my type 2 diabetes I had a good chance now since I have a favorable gene (?) and that if I waited my liver might not be in the best shape to accept treatment as now.
I really don't know how long I have had Hep C but it seems it could have been quite some time. I am 58yo male.
I am on Incivek, riba and interferon. I am beginning my 11th week. My doc said I was UND at 4 weeks.
Doc said if UND at 12 weeks my treatment will be 24 weeks total. I imagine 48 if not (seems to be the norm).
I am crossing my fingers as he has reduced my dosage of riba from 600mg twice a day to 200mg twice a day due to problems with kidney functions. He said not to worry that the 200mg twice a day is the base dose and most people are adjusted to what thier kidneys could handle. He aslo said since I need a shot of procrpt (spelling) every two weeks average and I am anemic, the riba is doing it's job.
I haven't had some of the classic sx it seems with the interferon but of course brain fog, fatigue headaches, and the infernal itching comes and goes.
I have begain to develop more of a rash it seems after this last injection and called the Doc on call who said it sounded like getting an Incivek rash. Kind of itchy but with the Aveeno type moisturized and bath wash I use it is somewhat managable. I'll be seeing the Doc about it asap next week.
Anyway just saying hi ;).
I like the variety of different views and information on this forum.
