Wish i could have a daily nap Matt, but i can't with the responsibility of being a single parent with 2 children aged 8 and 10. It's the school hols half term week here and i'm also off college so i'm gonna be kind to myself and go with the flow. No alarms for a week yay - nothing beats waking up naturally. I love my sleep, and fortunately i've suffered no sleeplessness on the 'pills'.
I have my Week 4 appt on thurs to stock up on more pills, hope i can get some kind of results/indication of activity of something happening (alt, ast).
Lisa, i feel so lucky compared to many on this site to not have any damage to the liver after 16 years, i must say though - i am sure it has had an impact on the clarity of my mind. Total brain fog episodes. It would be a gift to get my mind back 100% (not to mention being totally free of this lurking dragon).
I wanted to add something about another possible effect of these pills - from my personal experience the last few weeks - i have to limit my chocolate/sugary intake! I love sweets and go a bit mad on them. I'm talking about scoffing bars of chocolate and packets of jelly beans. They ain't agreeing with my health! I get heart palpy and i think it makes the dizzy spells worse. I smoke too unfortunately - but have cut right down. Not in the head space to pack em in completely. Down to about 7 roll ups a day.
I would like to wish you a great sunday, the sun is beaming today

Good on you for going with this trial. I see you have had the virus a very long time, so let's hope you get the SVR as a gift at the end. Good luck!

Hey Greendream
Sounds like your body is adapting to the Meds. It was normal for me to be sleepy everyday around 6:00 PM on the same Meds.
I think the best way to handle it is to make a plan for a daily nap or two, because your body is telling you to rest to regain strength.
My whole 12 weeks on the Abbott trial was like that, so go with the flow and let you body take a break. Before you know it you will be done
Other thing I learned, have a EOT (end of treatment) strategy.

Thanks for the update, Susan. You`re bound to be thinking about side effects, anyone would be in your situation. Good that your stomach upset symptoms and dizziness settled down quickly. Take it easy...
...and let`s hope we get some sunshine soon!

That's me now on my 4th week of pills. I found the 1st week a breeze - then towards the end of the 2nd week, out the blue i had a dizzy turn followed by throwing up and diarrea (scuse the spelling). Since then it's been on and off light dizziness and headaches (which i take paracetamol for) but no more throwing up. I'm not that concerned and i'm hoping it's just side effects from the pills. (I'd be a robot if it didn't cross my mind!)
Wish the weather wasn't so pants here, i need my sunshine!!!

8 1/2 Stone is 54KG.
You're right Luv, i'm not going to ponder anymore. There's no point. Just had the 2nd dose about an hour ago and feel really chilled out. I'm going to get treated and that's all that matters. I hope the rest of your time on the real deal flies in with little sickness.

Greendream how much is 8 1/2 stone???? Don't ponder too much on "am I taking the placebo" just remember the outcome ......UND and SVR!!!!! I totally understand where your coming from with the double blinded study. On May 3rd I will be at my fourth week and am looking forward to the next two months going by quickly and hopefully not being sick. Very happy for you!

Day 1 of Sapphire phase III trial, had my first dose of 'meds'. After bloodwork, ECG, weight and Questionaires, the nurse explained the dosage routine and side effects (which i was mostly aware of). I felt at ease there, they're a friendly lot and my nurse was great in answering any questions i had. Because i'm only 8 and a half stone, i got 1000mg of Riba. I had a cuppa and swallowed them there with the nurse, she asked me how i was feeling, and i felt fine. So, no adverse side effects. It's now about 2 hours since the drugs and i really don't feel any different - can't help but thinking that i would KNOW if anything alien was in my system..so i'm already thinking it's placebo haha. Jeez, i'm not gonna ponder this too much (i hope). Decided to take 2 in the morning and 3 at night, because i sleep so well normally - but if i end up with sleepless nights then i'll know something's up. I suppose it's too early to say after just 1 dose.... i got bit of a metallic taste in my mouth, but that could be anything...
I found out something which struck me as weird. My viral load last october was only 84,000 (that is low!) but the year before it was 380,000 (why? i can't imagine what aggravated it). The nurse said it could be up again, but she can't say as it's blinded results now.
Good Morning
Thanks all for your advice and well wishes
.
