I've been following an Australian Company called Benitec Pharma, and their work on gene silencing. After a difficult time with the lawyers, they are now starting Trials for a novel approach to HCV eradication. They are using a drug called TT-034, which is a ddRNAi (DNA-directed RNA interface) gene silencer, which prevents viral replication at 3 sites on the viral genome. The trials are initially for previous non-responders, and consist of a single IV infusion, and is effective for all Genotypes. I will be following it more closely now. Cheers.
Anyone following the Benitec trial may like to watch this video. It is the company's presentation to the RAC and explains how the treatment works.
Please let the video load and then go to the one hour twenty-one minute mark to see the start of the relevant presentation.

The trial will start recruiting shortly.
The agenda item can be found on P2.
This sounds promising and I will check this out.
Thank you for posting this!
