Great news that you`ve got your meds now and you`re all set to go..this is a great combo and you should do well. Yes, your doctor is right in saying this is the only `all oral` treatment currently available for you, apart from clinical trials. If you were doing Sovaldi + riba you would also need interferon as a genotype 1.
We now have quite a few members also on this treatment so you`ll be in good company throughout your journey!
Keep in touch, and all the best of luck!

My prayers have finally been answered!
Meds are here!
Starting tx. tomorrow.
Olysio/sovaldi/Riba
Was a major fiasco to get approved, but I feel grateful and fortunate to be able to get started.
Thanks to all the research Doctors and institutions for making these new drugs available.
Thanks to my very Knowledgable Hep. Dr and nurse for helping me through all this!
Hey Dan, Welcome! Same treatment here, 5th week. Look forward to tracking your progress. Be sure to post back with your experiences as you move through tx. We are the first going through real-world therapy with these new combos and information sharing is most helpful. Best of luck to you...

Hi Matt,
My Hepatologist showed me the result chart of the COSMOS study (very impressive) + this is the ONLY non INF based tx. available outside of clinical trials for us 1a's.
Thats enough for me to jump on the bandwagon.

Hello Dan
Welcome to the Forum from me as well, you have found a good place with caring members.
Your Treatment combo is very interesting considering your knowledge of the Q80K Polymorphism. If I may ask how did your doctor explain the way the meds will work with the Q80K. This combo seems more popular than we ever thought possible, it really shows the Doctors disdain for Interferon.
Your going to do really well on the therapy with a lot of others members on the same combo to interact with.

Hi Dan,
Welcome to the Forum. Hope you get your meds on time and can start destroying your virus. That's a good combination, even with the Q80K polymorphism. Up to 50% of US patients with Geno 1a have this. Good luck.

Thanks RC,
Got my fingers crossed! I am told the meds will be here tomorrow.
My first attempt at this combo was Dec. 20.
A little over 2 months of patience and persistence.
I still won't believe it until these pills are in my hand!
I am truly gratefull that I was approved.
