Why is it so high in the US but it could cost $2,000.00 in India? I don't get it. Gilead is the lowest of the low.

Gilead's claim that 'the price is consistent with the cost of previous treatment regimes.......' is rubbish. Victrelis ( Boceprevir) cost about $30K for a 24 week course and $45K for 48 weeks. It probably had more expensive Clinical Trials than Sovaldi, being a totally new type of drug. The SVR figures are somewhat higher for Sovaldi, but not to the extent they can claim such exorbitant prices are justified.
