So happy to hear you got approved straight away! I hope to hear more instances of this same great news. I want to believe that there are people in the position to approve or disapprove this treatment, even though it's considered "off label", that understand the importance of approving this potentially life saving treatment. It's not simply about money, it's about you, your quality of life and it's about ending a deadly disease for good. It just makes good moral and ethical sense to do everything possible to stop this disease before it can harm one more person.
I'm glad you've found the forum too! The information and support is vitally important. I hope you keep us informed of everything as you progress with treatment. We love sharing all the good news, the reports and even enjoy sharing those occasional sleepless nights! Whatever it takes, we're here to share the load!! Good luck Anna, your Hep free future is days away...

Hi, Wayne! My doctor said to take both every day at the same time, with a meal. I chose breakfast. That's been pill taking time for years. As suggested by dr, I set my alarm for the same time every day as a failsafe. Thanks for the encouragement and I love your avatar photo! Bless your heart, Anna

Hi Anna,
Glad to hear you were able to get underway with treatment. Most are reporting minimal side effects with that combo. Be sure to take the Olysio with food and drink plenty of water throughout the day. It will help with the headaches. Best of luck to you.

Started Sovaldi/Olysio tx. Today is day 4. No side effects yet. A bit of nausea, headache and anxiety. But I've been battling these symptoms anyway. BTW, my tx was approved the same day doctor submitted. I got a call out of the blue from ReCept spec pharm checking details and giving me copay cost, an amazing $30/month. I recd the meds about 2-3 days later and they each have 2 refills already. Just hope I can hang with any side effects that rear an ugly head! So grateful to read/participate in this forum. I totally believe in the power of peer support.

Hi Gator Man,
Congrats buddy! Not too long ago, I was on the "shorter" length treatment and still had 16 weeks of nasty triple to go and was thrilled! I can only imagine how good you feel right now and rightfully so! It's great to see everything falling into place for you. The future really does look bright!!! Good luck bro....

I finish Sovaldi/Olysio a week from today. UND at 8 weeks and LFTs normal. My next doctor's appointment is April 2nd with followups at 3 month and 6 month EOT. I will also have ultrasounds every 6 months to check on HCC, the next one being in July. When (fingers crossed) I reach SVR, my doctor said we will discuss future health issues regarding possible regression of liver damage and long term prognosis.
If you had asked me a year ago, I wouldn't have guessed that I would be this far along in defeating HCV, hopefully permanently. May we all have this good fortune in our future!

Congrats Richstar, please do keep us posted on improvements in your health. Others on tx (including me) will be interested in the time it takes for the fatigue and other symptoms to improve. Be well.
