Hi Sara! Thanks for your input and sharing your experience, this is very useful.
Sorry you didn`t manage to get onto one of these trials yourself, but you should do very well on the Sovaldi/Olysio combo this time around.
Best of luck!

I tried to get into this study. Each location is assigned a limited number of spots (five I think) for enrollment. Of the limited number for each location, only ONE participant can be cirrhotic. If there is more than one person being considered, basically you are competing for the spot. I lost out to someone who is half my age. I do understand this and don't have a problem with it at all. I was told once the initial spots are filled, additional spots will be assigned if the 300 spots allocated for the entire trial haven't been taken, but the chances of this happening are slim.
I think this is a great study for those co-infected. It's the first time I've seen a study that lowered the minimum requirement for platelets.
If anyone is interested in this trial, I recommend getting screened quickly before the trial fills up and there are no spots left. Those who are able to participate will be potentially SVR quicker then those waiting for FDA approval!

Hi Maddie, I don`t think anyone`s posted it before and it`s very good information for us to have.
Thanks!
(Ps - I`ve moved it here to our dedicated HCV/HIV Co-Infection area)
