Thanks for posting this. I find Chinese herbal medicine quite fascinating and not surprised that they have something like this. This could possibly be one of those items or compounds that could help to control viral replication and help minimize morbidity at a inexpensive cost in regions without access to the expensive pharmaceuticals.
I also found this bit of information interesting "HCV internal ribosome entry site (IRES)-driven luciferase reporter". Seems Lucifer has had a hand in controlling HCV all along....

In a different vein of HCV treatment checkout this article and report that made news at the London EASL conference today 4-12-2014 . This has some real science behind it.
