If memory serves me, you've been trying to get into a trial for some time. I'm glad you've finally made it. I hope you're in that 75% too! I'm sure you're as anxious and apprehensive as I was to start.
Good luck Marcy.

Hi Marcy,
I presume this is Merck's Phase 3 Trial, called C-EDGE. You should do well, going on the C-WORTHY results- SVR rates were >90% even without Riba. Keep us informed. Cheers.

Hi Marcy,
Congrats on getting into the trial. I had my EOT+24 labs on Monday--results in a few days. My Merck trial had two pills plus ribavirin. They had not combined the two drugs into one pill yet--and thank goodness it did not have a blind study. Personally, I think a blind study is silly. We all know that sugar pills don't cure Hep C. Maybe it is something FDA requires. The data has been great from Merck so I am sure you will do well. I did have some stomach issues toward the end of the trial, but I did 18 weeks and had ribavirin. I had to take my first dose at the trial center and was required to eat with it. You might take a snack along just in case. Good luck from another Merck trial participant !!!

Got the call today to start meds next Thursday on the Merck 5172/8742 combo. Its a 12 week, 1 pill day, double blinded placebo trial. Of course I'm hoping I'm in the 75% not on placebo, but even if I'm not, I still get the real thing after 18 weeks. Excited to finally have a hope of being free of this crap. Excited!!!
