Great to hear your maintaining your SVR, well deserved after all these years. Hope the rest of your life will follow suit.

Outstanding news Susan. You have waited a long time to be virus free!

This is excellent news, Suziq. You are an inspiration on many levels!
Thanks for posting about the diabetes too as hepc has been linked to type 2 diabetes and it is good to see glucose levels returning to normal post SVR. How high was your glucose running before tx and did you take Metformin for it? I was recently diagnosed with diabetes as well but my glucose only runs around 130-140 at the highest and that is non fasting. I have resisted taking any drugs for it and am hoping that tx will restore it to normal. Not sure about my decision not to take the Metformin though.
P.S. I do eat a low-glycemic diet and am normal body weight with BMI between 22-23.

Hi All,
Got this email from my trial coordinator this morning. Good news for one who HAD Hep C and has type 2 diabetes. I'll post my lab flow sheet when I get it. Merck is great !! I am SO grateful for having the opportunity to participate in their trial. Reached my goal of SVR before my 80th birthday in August. I feel good, but I really didn't have a lot of symptoms from my Hep C. I do not tire as easily as before treatment and look forward to hopefully reversing my cirrhosis as time goes by.
From my coordinator:
Nothing detected
ALT 19; AST 23; glucose 110
All labs look good
I will be sending you a letter with the lab flowsheet
Congratulations
That is wonderful news for me--and for all of us doing treatment and looking forward to treating. Each SVR is another step forward in killing the virus.
