I started having very dry eyes about 6 months ago and I've been itching extremely bad (almost 24/7) for the last two months. I believe that this is just one of the many, many manifestations of this disease. Hepatitis C is not just a liver disease it is a systemic disease. Here is a link to a YouTube presentation by a well respected hepatologist named Robert Gish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8p1I95HFK8

You can expect your elbows to get dry and flakey, and your big toenails to get yellow and a funky mold like growing underneath the nail. The nail itself will get thick curled up and ugly , This too is the virus/

If your not taking any medications, This is probably an extra hepatic manifestation. This happens in varying degrees . It has happened to me and the Dermatologist told me it was rosieola witch is something children get from penicillin. This is not progress of the disease but another way it attack's you. The hydrocordizone cream will help the itching but is the totally wrong thing to do for your liver. This is what I use, It is not instant but will help the itching if you give it time/
I have been having fatigue on and off, but lately I started having this itching, which is not very intense but disturbing. Does it mean that my liver disease is progressing?
