Yes, I was hoping it would be useful to a few of our members. It`s a topic that often crops up when people are on treatment and at other times too. I know it`s something you`re suffering from at the moment and I have bouts of insomnia from time to time as well.
I often find a mug of milky cocoa at bedtime helps, and I expect other people have tried and tested remedies they can add.
(Time for a nap I think! )

Hi Jill,
Thank you for posting this article. It plays right into a recent (current) problem that I'm having with this issue. I believe I slept better on treatment than I have afterwards! Now that's hard to figure out!
There are several good suggestions and anyone experiencing this problem would be served well to take the advice. Do your best to avoid the prescription sleep aids, as they can definitely become a problem. Dependence on meds for sleep is a difficult habit to get away from. If anyone has additional thoughts or ideas for dealing with this, please share. Maybe we'll find a way to actually get more than 2 hours sleep in a row!!! Wouldn't that be nice?

Recently, the National Sleep Foundation released new recommendations for Americans of every age. While these are recommendations, there are always reasons why people may require more sleep than recommended. For instance, if you have an illness or are being treated for hepatitis C your body needs more sleep than recommended to heal and recover.
This is a useful article which lists causes and effects of insomnia and tips on how to cope with it.
