Ok, i dreamed last night I took an extra pill and it was so real i had to get up and check. Pill case works for me. Even though i have to check it 3 or 4 times a day, it works.

Hope your OK J. Ahhh.....advantage Vikera-Pac! (about time) You get one package a day out of a case and you press out each pill from the plastic. The ribavirin (comes seperate) has to be punched out too from plastic and has a day of the week on it. I put out 1 pack a day on the kitchen counter and cut my riba into daily alotments. You really miss the regiment routine when treatments over! I find it odd Harvoni is not packaged well, just a bottle of pills for all that $$$$$ ! Be careful now. Peace.

I used a calendar and took my pill with dinner. I NEVER forgot to put a big red X on that day..... Otherwise I probably would have screwed it up at some point rushing around! Glad you okay.

Hi Sick Puppy,
I'm curious about how far apart you took the two doses? The literature and second hand comments I've read online, indicate they don't want you taking two doses together, that is considered an overdose of the medication. There is information available from Gilead that is clear that if you take a dose and vomit within 5 hours, you should take another dose. Vomiting after 5 hours, you should continue as normal and take your next dose at the regularly scheduled time. While you want to do everything you can to avoid taking two doses together, I have to imagine that it has happened many, many times before. If there was a serious concern about this, they would've had you in the ER immediately. I think their recommendation to monitor your vital signs and go in to the ER if you start having problems, a good suggestion. My next question is, how are you feeling?
I wouldn't be terribly concerned about what to do because you're short one pill. By the end of treatment, I believe the impact on your chance of SVR will be negligible. Just continue on your regularly scheduled dosing. If you've taken two today already, I would wait until tomorrow to take my next scheduled dose.

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I just did the same thing. I took an extra Harvoni today with the night dose of Ribavirin. I'm an idiot. I called the ER, the Poison departments, Gilead, everywhere.
Everyone said to just sit tight and monitor my vitals and go to emergency if they change outside of the normal range.
How did you fix it in the end? Did you just go on with your treatment (so basically, took the next one at the regular hour, effectively overdosing again) or did you change your schedule and ended up one pill short? Did you get an extra pill from somewhere?

Hi John,
While I don't think you've got anything to worry about, as MM points out, you should let your doc know at your earliest convenience. Support Path should have some thoughts and advice on the subject too. I mean by now it's gone and as you said, you feel fine. When something like that happens, you generally just end one day sooner unless they have an extra pill laying around that they can give you. That's probably unlikely! Nobody has an extra $1250 dollar pill laying around!
Let us know what you find out. You're the first I'm aware of here that doubled a dose. I would recommend one of the daily pill containers with the day of the week on it. That helped me. Take it EZ...

How should I take HARVONI?
Take HARVONI exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take it. Do not change your dose unless your healthcare provider tells you to.
Do not stop taking HARVONI without first talking with your healthcare provider. If you think there is a reason to stop taking HARVONI, talk to your healthcare provider before doing so.
Take HARVONI 1 time each day with or without food.
If you miss a dose of HARVONI, take the missed dose as soon as you remember the same day. Do not take more than 1 tablet of HARVONI in a day. Take your next dose of HARVONI at your regular time the next day.
If you take too much HARVONI, call your healthcare provider or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away.
So, I suggest you to call your doctor or pharmacist ASAP. They can tell you when you take your next dose. Normally, at your regular time, but call them first.

I took a Harvoni with the night rib last night because I am an idiot - anyone ever take 2 in fine day by accident. I feel fine, I am just wondering what you did about the next dose.
