Hello everyone! I am sure some of you remember my post about my husband being diagnosed with liver cancer. An MRI showed 3 tumors and the consensus of all the doctors from the liver transplant dept. at Mt. Sinai Hospital was to treat him by doing RADIOEMBOLIZATION to see if the tumors would respond and hopefully shrink. The procedure was done on March 5th and everything went well!
Yesterday we went back to meet with the surgeon to learn about the outcome. all I can say is
"GOD IS AMAZING"! All our prayers were answered.
Since 2 of the bigger tumors fed off the same source, they were able to be targeted during the same procedure. The new MRI showed that especially the bigger tumor (5cm) was almost gone along with the smaller one( 2.9"). The third tumor which is on the other side of the liver somehow received some of the radio beads and also shrunk a little. The doctor has schedule another MRI in 8 weeks to see if the beads have kept on working and reduced the tumors even more!
This changes the whole picture of his HCC. Now they may even be able to completely remove the tumors.
Angelo is also almost done with the Harvoni 24 weeks treatment. The last 2 lab results showed
He is UNDETEDCTED, which will definitely help with his prognosis.
Wonderful news, Mena. The two of you must be thrilled with the progress.
