Hey Paul,
Great advice buddy! Only thing I would recommend differently is the alcohol intake. 100% abstinence is a good idea. For some however, that's a difficult lifestyle change, it was for me. I wish I had taken your 90% rule to heart back then! Good luck to you...

Thanks everyone for the kind words of congratulations. For those who are not quite there yet, maybe struggling with side effects, insurance companies, and the stubborn nature of this disease, please don't despair. There were times over the many years that I had this disease that I did not get regular testing and just felt that why bother? There is no cure, so why get upset about high liver functions and viral loads if there is no effective treatment? This was my logic at the time, but now there are cures with more coming every day to cover all of the genotypes. Think about it; there are no known cures for most chronic illnesses, but there are real cures for HCV. So, please, everyone out there still suffering with HCV, keep the rest of your physical and mental health intact. Whatever your alcohol use is, cut out 90% or more. Cut out junk food and anything highly processed with preservatives. Be kind to your liver and take milk thistle every day. Get exercise. Live your life as if you don't have HCV. You will slay the dragon; maybe this year, or maybe next year, but the key is to stay healthy in the meantime. Good luck everyone!
