Hi Paul,
All patients with chronic HepC will end up with infection in their new, transplanted liver. However the new DAA's are just as effective. Best of luck. Cheers.

Hi Paul,
We have had some members that have been transplanted, but I'm unaware of any discussions on reinfection. I do know that they are trying very hard to achieve SVR prior to transplantation. Anyone actively infected at the time of transplant will immediately infect the graft. It's easier on the patient and the new liver to avoid the whole re treatment process if possible. I wish I could provide you with some new information on re treatment after transplant with the newest drug protocols. They are so new that the information is sadly lacking. In time we'll begin to see more current information being provided.
Do you have any extra information available? Anything you can provide, will help us provide better informed opinions.
There are some discussions here on the forum that you may find informative. Use our Search function at the top and enter "Transplant" or any other keyword for information you may be curious about. If I can be of assistance, just let me know.
