I apologize it was not a report. It was a person saying this. He was misinformed. It was all straightened out. It's difficult to read and sort through so much infirmation. I was in a group on Facebook. It's info overload. I am too sensitive to expose myself to it all of the time. I'm sorry for the confusion.

You got this WW! You may, however, consider paying a visit to your Dr if you feel the need to

You are so close, WW! Just a little bit longer to go!
P.S. In case this information helps: I have had no side effects after finishing treatment, besides feeling great :)

I see, that makes sense to me. Thank you for answering me honestly. I was earnestly curious. I have 11 days left on my 8 week Tx. I am emotional a lot. I am terrified, still. I have read reports of the kidney and heart being affected by the Tx. I was in good health before Tx. I know I say that a lot. I had a condition going on that ws causing my toes and fingers to hurt. That is how I got on Tx. I had no liver damage and I had no other adverse health issues. Nothing....... I am scared now that I wrecked my health in other ways. Please tell me I am just worrying needlessly. I had heart palpitations last night and shortness of breathe this morning. I have a little over a week. I really want to finish this. I was on 8 weeks Tx.

Hi WW,
Despite the risk of being shamed, I would like to share my doctor's advice on this:
(1) if you are cured of Hep C, AND (2) your fibroscan (or biopsy) shows no damage after the cure --> THEN you may be able to enjoy one glass of wine at special occasions.
I clarified whether "special occasions" could mean "weekends," and she said "no" :)

Hi WW,
We were discussing this last week and if you didn't see it, here's a link to it. You can also use the search function at the top and find additional threads here on the forum. I think it's an individual decision and if you have no other problems, such as advanced fibrosis, a drink once in awhile won't be the end of the world. But an already damaged liver takes time to heal. Drinking does it no favors. It sounds like you're not a steady drinker, and occasional intake may be fine. My suggestion is to take the advice of your doctor before making that decision. Good luck...
Some of us are alcoholics and some of us use/used AA to live a better life. Kind of stating the obvious here. Also, some of us have cirrhosis and alcohol is probably the worse thing you can do to your liver.

I am also going to consult my Doctor on this. I have heard people saying to avoid alcohol after Tx. I don't plan on drinking the day I finish Tx. I am not an alcoholic. I do however have drinks on occasion. I only drink cider draft and even when I do that, the galaxy must be in perfect alignment to actually feel like I can have a few drinks. I did this previous to treatment and I planned on having my moments afterwards. Why do so many say to avoid alcohol? I sense some influence of AA. I have absolutely nothing against AA. I believe it is an essential program and I have many dear friends in the program. I just don't understand this point that is being made. I know alcohol may cause hepatitis, but mine was purely viral. I'm asking out of curiosity. If you're going to have a mean response, please don't respond at all. I just want to know if there is a grave concern there.
