Thanks Tig, glad there is signs of those. That's a great article with photos and everything. Just another thing to be on the look out for. Feel pretty good about not having to worry about them just yet (Hopefully never).

Hi Gracie,
The Endoscopy/Gastroscopy is done to look for "Varicies" but they look for any abnormality that may exist. They are as you said, enlarged veins that protrude into the lining of the esophagus and stomach. They can rupture and cause major blood loss and death if left untreated.
I get it done every three years. Family history of polyps cancer. Also for ulcers as i had a bad bleed which started all this....

Got my Gastroscopy done this morning and the gastro doc said no damage, everything is normal and I'd see him for a repeat in 3 years.
This sounds pretty positive, but wondering how others have made out with their gastroscopy's? What exactly are they looking for? Bleeding veins? In the stomach? In the throat? I asked him if he checked right down to the stomach and he said he went past that. To where? Lol...
Really wondering if I should request one sooner than 3 years. Can the veins pop out quickly or does this happen over time? How long can one be cirrhotic before they have these kind of issues?
... I know ... A lot of questions for a Friday ...
