Yes Tig, I completely agree with your comments about Alan Franciscus, and his HCV Advocate website is a very reliable and up to date source of news and information about all things relating to Hep C.
I should think this community forum in Fresno will be very interesting and educational, and well worth attending for anyone who is in the area.

Thanks for posting this Jill. If anyone is in the Fresno area, this would be an excellent presentation and opportunity to meet some leaders in our battle. Alan Franciscus is a powerful advocate in the HCV and HBV community and a forum like this is a great way to educate and advocate. Anyone not knowing about Alan should take a look at the HCV Advocate website. He offers an excellent email newsletter that you can sign up for there.
The County of Fresno`s Department of Public Health and several other health agencies will be hosting a patient community forum on Hep C. The forum will be moderated by Alan Franciscus of the Hep C Support Project/HCV Advocate.
Educators will discuss the basics of Hep C; and Dr Muhammad Sheikh, a local UCSF provider, will discuss the advancements in Hep C treatment, including the new interferon-free drugs that can cure more than 90% of people who take them.
This event will be held on Thursday Aug 20, 2015, at the Ted C.Willis Community Center, loacted at 770 N San Pablo, in Fresco, from 6.00pm - 8.00pm.
Anyone who is affected by HCV is encouraged to attend the community forum including family members, friends and significant others.
There is no charge to attend and a light dinner and beverages will be available at 5.30pm. Doors prizes will be included.
