So, at the Dr. After 8 weeks I am UNDETECTABLE!! F_N Ay!!! I'll deal with the pain and inflammation. Worth it to finally be cured. All my liver functions are down close to normal. Ultrasound looks good and I I have complacent cirrhosis. As my doctor described it, "the factory windows are broken and the walls are covered with graffiti, but it's turning out beautiful Gucci handbags"!!
Can't begin to tell y'all what a weight has been lifted.

Hi 3TAC,
Like you I was a previous non-responder and recently completed the 24 weeks on Harvoni. I definitely experienced increased inflamation/arthritic symptoms while on tx, Still have some issues with this. I had tendonitis in my elbows and increased arthritic symptoms in my hands and hips. Also has intermittent increased pain in the shoulders. The shoulder and elbow pain have improved post tx. At one point this was really affecting my sleep. I purchased an inexpensive gel infused mattress cover which did help. I was reluctant to take any meds while on tx. My doc ok'd Naproxen which I took sometimes before bed.
There are other members who have expressed similar pain issues, and others seem less affected? The Harvoni is the real thing. The teaching hospital I went to has treated hundreds with Harvoni, almost no relapses and the very few that occur are almost always within 4 weeks post tx. Odds are extremely high you'll find SVR. Time passes quickly. Hopefully you'll see some improvements in these symptoms. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Good luck

Hey 3X,
Nice Tatt! I've seen that design somewhere before! Looks good!
We have had ongoing complaints with joint and muscle pain from our Harvoni members. It seems to be well documented that these symptoms last throughout treatment and during the recovery period for many. Good news is, most people are mentioning the problems diminish, often during treatment. So I think you're in one of those wait and see situations. I know none of the OTC anti inflammatory meds, like ibuprofen or Tylenol do much for that kind of discomfort, but it's worth a try if your doc is okay with it. If you're not concentrating on hydration, do that too. It's proven that it reduces Harvoni/Sovaldi related side effects.
Aside from all the discomfort, I'm happy to hear your viral load is down to <15. Did the report say it was detected and less than 15? If it didn't say that, you may be undetected. Many of the viral load tests only test to 15 and below that it says either detected but unquantifiable or undetected. Do you have a copy of the report? You can post it if you'd like and we can take a look at it. It's up to you. You will no doubt be undetected by your next viral load, probably are now. Keep up the good fight and keep us informed of your progress. I'm glad you checked in!

Good News First!
I am a 2X Non-Responder and have been on Harvoni for 60 days. I was told today that my viral load is down to 15 from 1.8Million!! Basically, undetectable. I have an appointment in the morning with my doctor. While I am very happy, I am a little reserved, until I hear it straight from the horses mouth. I still need to be on Harvoni for a total of 24 weeks due to my previous failures.
Bad News....
I have arthritis, and since I have started Harvoni, it has flared up to levels that I have never experienced. My rheumatologist doesn't want to give me anything that might conflict with the Harvoni. Anyone else see/experience issues with Harvoi and arthritis before?
Congrats 3TAC on your UND. Next stop SVR!
